"Beautiful property and very nice host. I wish I had known the guest house was directly behind the owner's home. Less privacy than we would have liked but very, very nice. The property is secure, quiet, and safe. Absolutely gorgeous setting with the pool and hot tub.My only recommendation is to clean the inside of the washer. The front loader is full of mold/mildew but they are very nice and we used them.Thank you for a great stay."

Top Brandeis Hotel Reviews

Palm Garden Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Despite being right next to the freeway, the place wasn’t too loud, as clean as one can expect for the price point (not spotless but pretty clean). Only things worth noting were that there was a $150 charge + $10 per day for parking at check-in that either wasn’t mentioned during booking, or was a small footnote that I missed, and that the water pressure in the shower was a bit aggressive. The $150 charge got refunded the day after I checked out (although depending on the bank it may take longer), so it was more a mild inconvenience than an actual upset. Otherwise, place was great. Now that I know about the extra deposit on check-in, would recommend."

The Garland

8/10 Good

"There was an issue at check in where our confirmed reservation from Expedia somehow didn't make it into their system, so they were unable to accommodate to room we booked (deluxe pool view). We were unhappy with the original room they tried to put us in the other building further away from the pool. After we complained they agreed to move us into the El Dorado building facing the courtyard a couple rooms down from where we had reserved and offered a $50 food and beverage credit for the inconvenience. If you book through Expedia, I recommend contacting the hotel to verify they receive the reservation. It worked fine for our previous stay, so this may have been a one time error. Overall our stay was excellent aside from the check in experience. The trolley was out of service for maintenance and they had a couple of vans running multiple trips per hour instead. We were surprised they didn't get a larger vehicle with similar seating as an alternative since this is a major amenity many people rely on to get to Universal Studios. We just went to Citywalk on this trip so it didn't impact us that much, but there were long lines outside in the mornings for people waiting to go to the park that would have been a big source of frustration otherwise."

The Sojourn Los Angeles - Sherman Oaks

8/10 Good

"Totally budget hotel. Clean but needs updating badly. Lighting is harsh and there wasn't even an outlet in the bathroom. Great friendly service and front lobby was decent. I was also very surprised when I arrived to find this is a motel rather than an hotel. Maybe I missed something in the description. However, I did find it clean and safe."

The Pierside Santa Monica

10/10 Excellent

"The iconic Santa Monica pier is just one block away. This conveniently located boutique Hotel has a hip skater/surfboard, motif, but also an elegant bicycles are available to take on the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. My only disappointment was that the pool was closed for maintenance, but they did give me a voucher to use a neighboring hotels pool. I was given a free breakfast coupon, but it was only for one particular item on the menu, which was not vegetarian. My suggestion would be to allow choosing any breakfast dish on the menu. The non-vegetarian was one of the most expensive things on the menu, so I would imagine that having a bowl of oats which cost less would not be an issue. For a hotel with a bicycle, skateboard, surfboard, motif, I think they should lean into the Health food a bit more other than that, I had a wonderful time and a great sleep in a very comfortable bed in a very well designed room."

Hotel Angeleno

8/10 Good

"I used to stay here often a few years back. The location is great, but the age of the property is showing that they have not updated at all. Paper cups in plastic and lack of a trash can in the bathroom was inconvenient. I just took the room can to the bathroom. Staff in the West restaurant was friendly, but lacked enthusiasm. The views are great, but this spot has dropped a star (or two). Valet was professional and friendly."
