Dear 5 Star Holiday Home in Ega, The surroundings of the house were very beautiful and we enjoyed the location. However, the house itself appeared quite worn and several things were not functioning properly: 1. The trap (siphon) in the small bathroom was so heavily clogged with limescale that we had to remove and descale it ourselves. Water in both the sink and the floor drain drained away very slowly. 2. In the same bathroom, using the shower flooded the floor to such an extent that the water was close to flowing into the living area. This appears to have been an ongoing issue for quite some time, as the bottom of the bathroom door was badly swollen from water damage. 3. The bottom of the shower curtain was black with mold, and the floor squeegee was in the same condition (see photo). 4. In the room opposite the bathrooms, the window could not be tilted open because the window handle was defective. 5. In the same room, neither of the wall lamps next to the bed was working, although the power outlets were functioning. 6. The machine located under the wooden cover in front of the swimming pool ran continuously day and night and was so noisy that it was impossible to use the seating area placed nearby. 7. The felt flooring on the first floor was heavily stained and worn (see photo). Beautiful hotel - so well appointed with great classic features retained in the building - loved the vintage lift! The rooms were so comfy and loved the molten brown toiletries! Amazing breakfast and loved the welcome drink in the honesty bar - great little touch Excellent food, comfort and service - I would definitely recommend

Lovely hotel with pretty courtyard. I received a complimentary room upgrade facing the street. Very spacious room, comfortable bed, decent-sized bathroom with separate bathtub and shower, fluffy bath towels, bathrobe, slippers, Molton Brown toiletries, coffee machine, mini bar. All in all, very nice and clean. The less than perfect aspects were: weak shower pressure, bed sits on an elevated platform which makes late-night trips to the bathroom a bit hazardous, no air conditioning which means the windows needs to be opened and the street noise is very noticeable. The thing that disappointed me is the room faces a bar across the street. It’s very noisy and make sleeping very difficult despite the ear plugs the hotel kindly provide. Luckily as it was a Tuesday night, the bar closes early and the noise finally died down around midnight. I also skipped breakfast as DKK 300 felt too expensive for what I would typically eat in the morning. This hotel would be perfect in a quieter location and with no noisy bar across the street. It’s a very short walk from the train station. Due to the noise levels, I would not stay here again.
