The medieval village was lovely. The location could not be beat for day trips. All in all a great place to stay while exploring the south of France. ##### Nancy W. My wife & I were traveling with our 2 young adult children. The house was immaculately clean, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. And it’s situated in the quaintest, cutest town. There’s everything you need in this little town— a Boulanger, a viande market, a grocery store, a few good restaurants (Cafe du Commerce was great) and one exceptional restaurant (La Table de la Bastide de Boulbon). Paola, who manages the house and has a sewing/gift shop in town was so very helpful, steering us right whenever we had a question. Plus, Boulbon is a very central location. It’s about 25-45 minutes to Avignon, Arles, Nimes, the Luberon, Les Baux, Pont du Gard, Chateauneuf-de-Pape. We stayed here for 5 nights and would have been happy if we had booked our entire 2 week trip here. There is so much to do in the area. One of our favorite rentals ever. ##### Mark K. The beautifully restored property made us feel like we were living in a part of the castle just above us. Les and Margaret kept in touch from afar with information and check ins, and Paola, the manager that lives in the village, couldn't have been nicer. We felt as though we had made a friend, stopping by her little shop often to chat and see what new creation she was making. In addition, Paola was a valuable resource when we had questions, sought recommendations, or had a particular problem to solve. The small kitchen was stocked with anything we needed when we chose to cook at "home", the notebook of information was impressively organized and detailed, the bedrooms were comfortable, and the trip to the patisserie was literally steps away. It was very special that we got to witness two traditional community events during our month long stay. Boulbon's location was ideal to explore so many other surrounding Provincial villages and towns and each of us on this trip are already hoping to return one day. ![](https://a.travel-assets.com/ugc/hotel-reviews/f335155f-bd7d-46f5-983a-ad78dc92a04b-1750022704434.jpg?impolicy=resizecrop&rw=204&ra=fit&q=high) ![](https://a.travel-assets.com/ugc/hotel-reviews/3a500dd5-1f02-4ce6-8e41-e50875641580-1750022745614.jpg?impolicy=resizecrop&rw=204&ra=fit&q=high) ![](https://a.travel-assets.com/ugc/hotel-reviews/8d5c0c73-69ef-4618-9515-ca62c5dae07f-1750025264733.jpg?impolicy=resizecrop&rw=204&ra=fit&q=high) ![](https://a.travel-assets.com/ugc/hotel-reviews/17dbdd75-6b4b-4426-93a5-bc95bbc070f5-1750025311579.jpg?impolicy=resizecrop&rw=204&ra=fit&q=high) ##### Robert B. It lived up to all expectations for us. We are two pretty fit senior citizens who were travelling with our 22 year old granddaughter. Paola, the property manager in the village, was amazing. It is an easy 15 minute drive to the Avignon TGV station. The village boulangerie is wonderful, and the small grocery had everything we needed. ##### Melinda R. We had a lovely one-week stay in Boulbon at La Maison des Puits. The house is large and historic - it truly feels like staying somewhere special. We had expected to be five people, but ended up being three. It would have been more than enough space for our entire group. The owner - Les - was VERY quick to respond and really accommodating. The local caretaker of the property - Paola - was absolutely fantastic. Boulbon itself is a small, very quiet, and very historic village - close enough to other towns/areas we wanted to see - having a car is key to be able to do that. We hope to be back! ##### Melissa S. The historic house was charmingly renovated and had all the amenities we needed. People in the village were quite friendly and it was so convenient to have the plaza and small shops within walking distance. Boulbon is an excellent location for making day trips to places like Arles, Avignon, Nimes and Isle sur la Sorgue. We had a wonderful dinner at L'Oranger our last night in Boulbon. Though there was a glitch in our check-in process, Les was in touch right away...and Paola and her husband were helpful upon our departure in getting our bags to the car. Overall it was the perfect place for a reunion of 3 long-time friends! ##### francy m. Surrounded by orchards and vineyards, Boulbon is a gem with one boulangerie, one mini-market, and two cafes/restaurants that seem to be all the residents need to live a satisfying Provencal life. The house is immaculate on three levels with room for many though there were only two of us. Stay at the Maison du Puits and wonder why anyone would consider staying anywhere else. And Paoula, the caretaker is a gem; speaker of at least three languages and a joy to interact with. More than a five star experience. ##### Philip S. Our two weeks flew by and we had so much more to see. Close to Avignon, Arles, the Luberon & Nimes (amongst others). The house is tucked away in a back corner of the town, a very short walk to the bakery, small grocery store (which opened at 7 am and while we did our large shops in Tarascon it had everything we needed in between) and pharmacy. The walk to the central parking lot was less than 5 minutes. There is a lovely split-level terrace, we ate outside nearly every meal at the end of June. The table has a large umbrella we used mid-day and brought down in the evening. Our family of six had a great stay and all wished we could stay longer! ##### Greg B. Great time to visit the south of France; the crowds are gone, and the weather is still decent. This rental experience has achieved top ranking in the many places we have stayed over the past decade. Fantastic location in Boulbon, about ten minutes to Avignon by car. The village itself is awesome, with restaurants, a bakery, a butcher shop and a small grocery store within easy walking distance. Kitchen is well-equipped; we cooked a lot of French food during our stay. Nice to have a dishwasher. We took advantage of the outdoor produce markets in nearby communities. Fresh seasonal products, plus cheese, olives and tapenade. Bathrooms have good showers, good water pressure. Comfortable beds. Very cosy main floor, we had a wood fire going on chilly mornings. The house itself is stone; it was beautifully reconstructed from a ruin. Its tucked inside an old fortification. Really cool. Lovely terrace outside with a masonry charcoal grill. There is a spiral concrete staircase that allows access to the top two floors (three story building). Stone stairs access the terrace from outside the house, and another set of stairs accesses it from the second level of the house. The property is not suitable to those with mobility issues. Paola the caretaker is a warm, friendly lady. The owners are very well organized, especially the house information binder, which addresses everything you need to know about the property. ##### Christopher F.
