Drive towards Baie-Mahault then Petit-Bourg, following the N1 straight on for about 20 minutes. Cross Basse-Terre on the Route de la Traversée (D23) After Petit-Bourg, you'll see a fork indicating Route de la Traversée / Parc National / Bouillante: take the D23. Caution: this is a very beautiful but winding road, in the middle of the rainforest. Drive carefully, especially in wet weather.
