The garden hosts a pretty pool surrounded by terraces and equipped with a shaded summer kitchen. You are only 20 km from Alès with its beautiful flowers and monuments. St. Ambroix is a picturesque and lively little town crossed by the river and dominated by the magnificent Dugas Chapel. It is situated on a rocky plateau that rises to over forty meters above sea level. This fabulous region is crossed by refreshing streams and offers many hiking trails and wooded routes. A few minutes away, splendid villages of character await you, such as Naves, Voguë, Barjac or Bannes. Don't miss Montclus, a historic village on a hill overlooking the banks of the Cèze, surrounded by vineyards, chestnut trees and lavender, which is considered one of the "most beautiful villages in France". We started at Capluc, a cross on a peak above Le Rozier and did the entire circuit. It's still comfortably in my top ten all time great walks. If you suffer acrophobia it's one to be avoided. The area is also something of a mecca for rock climbers.
