The main issue for this hotel is location. Any late night arrivals should be aware that it is located a walk further than other hotels in the area and down a rather dark, sketchy road. We did not feel safe. The sign for the hotel was only half lit up so hard to see. Once there, we rang the outside bell and although the desk clerk could see us she continued to chat with her friend until we rang it a three times. I reported this in the morning to another staff member.
On a positive note, the room was comfortable, great shower, good bed and the breakfast was fabulous. The hotel also had a lovely outside terrace. Everything inside the hotel was great.
Campanile is just a couple minutes walk from the train (look for the Best Western on the corner.) The street looks a bit dodgy at night but is brightly lighted and a lot of car traffic though not many pedestrians when we were there Sept 2022. The hotel door is secure at all times and someone is always on duty at the nearby front desk. Friendly helpful staff and small but clean room and bathroom. Very good breakfast. Our “superior “ room bed was stacked with the best, most comfortable pillows we’ve ever had in even way more expensive 4 star hotels! We’d stay there again. Convenient to train, airport buses, tram lines and restaurants.
Very convenient location:7-minute walk to St Jean train station, essential for a 6 am train!
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast and the AC kept us nice and cool on a 38 degree day! All good!
Great! I booked very quickly for this hotel, and I was very pleased with my stay. The room had everything I needed and was extremely comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.
We were very welcomed at the hotel and the staff was super attentive. The hotel looks new, is clean and has a warm, modern decor. The room was a little small, but they also offer bigger rooms - for the price, the smaller one was great. You can also feel at home and connect your streaming accounts to Chromecast devices featured in every room. The only downside is the area that has been under renovation for some time, so it feels a little unsafe at night, but we walked around for 3 nights and had no problem. It’s not in the city centre, but it’s very easy to reach town by tram (10min) or on foot (25min). I definitely recommend it!
Modern, affordable, clean, excellent location right near Bordeaux train station & advanced city-wide tram system. Staff extremely helpful and efficient. Room design is clever because they provide every comfort a traveler needs, but without bundling in expensive luxuries that aren't really going to do much for a traveler who really just wants to immerse themselves in the very special Bordeaux environment.

It was adequate for a night's stay; very bare bones, but everything necessary. It was in a poor rundown part of the city with a lot of garbage lining the streets, making it unappealing to approach or walk to. However, it was close to the train station making it convenient for travel.

A Yurt?
Why, people asked. My answer “Why not?” It was an experience not a permanent move and I’m happy to have a yurt stay in my biography.
The current owner learned a mortar attack occurred on site and he has the mortar remains to support it. The house was originally owned by a collaborator during WW11. The neighbors never spoke to him after the war. History right at our yurt door!
We had a positive experience staying at the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, the room clean and the staff courteous. I would recommend this property.
It was very handy to the train station yet in a quiet area. The room was very soundproofed, the quietest room we've ever stayed. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was fairly spacious with everything we needed and the bed was very comfy.
We loved everything about this hotel. From the friendly receptionists to the contemporary design of the bedroom to the smart lounge area and outside space. The mint drink in the lobby was just what was needing at arrival on a hot day an extra touch that was appreciated. We would be very happy to stay there again.

Very nice and convenient for centre of town. Near to train station, buses and trains.
Lovely breakfasts with so much choice.
Very friendly staff, nothing too much bother.
Very nice & clean hotel. Convenient location. The staff was excellent! Desk clerk went out of her way to assst us with our AirFrance list luggage problem. Many thanks!!!
Bit difficult to access to hotel, as there was road works and no clear sign, I had to use side narrow road, slight damage to my car rims. Hotel staff said use the no entry road, but not clearly marked, sign was pointing in wrong direction. Location was good and easy to board tram to city centre. Bordeaux, very nice city.
The hotel now shares a wall with a nightclub.
Between midnight and 7 am do not expect to be able to sleep.
Once the nightclub starts up your room will be filled with the not so gentle thumping of the bass from the nightclub next door.
When challenged about the noise the staff reach for a conveniently placed bowl of ear plugs and refuse to do anything to assist you further.
We are now waiting for a call back from the chef d'hotel to discuss a refund as we ended up leaving the hotel at 1am to make our way to a nearby hotel which did not seem to be part of a nightclub.
Avoid unless you already suffer from profound hearing loss!
The hotel room was very clean. We found some of the reception staff abrupt in their manner. When asked for more milk for the room it was given reluctantly and then were given only two pods we thought the hotel was expensive for what you got.
I was a bit disappointed. There is no key access to enter the hotel. You have to press a button at the outer intercom then state room number before entry was granted. I guess it was due to surrounding area (near train station). Bed and pillows were too hard. Hotel was very clean and had a modern feel.
Close to tram, that can take you to town center.
Would I book again? No.
Our stay was a combination of work and pleasure. Even though the train was very late, they were extremely accommodating with fast check-in and ancillary services. The next morning I worked in the lobby/breakfast area to allow my wife to sleep. Breakfast was great. Staff was pleasant. They offered to keep our bags while we toured (even though we didn't need the service), very gracious.
Everything done right,

Noisy hotel
Club next door runs from 12am to 6am. Noise in all the rooms. I could not sleep. During the day the hotel is fine, the problem is the noise at bed time. Not good.
A couple of days in Bordeaux after returning a hire car. Hotel is convenient to the Railway station and hire car depots. Like the other IBIS we have stayed in across France the Campanile appears to have been recently renovated.
