This little cabin was perfectly situated and walking distance to great restaurants (recommend Stone Wall) and just 15 minutes to each mountain. It was the perfect little rental for two couples. We had Bearside #2 and we could hear the footsteps of Bearside 3 as I'm sure Bearside #1 could hear ours but it wasn't distracting. The shower has terribly low water pressure and the temperature was up and down as you shower. Nowhere to hang towels. An over the door hook rack would fix easily. The fridge was very loud. We would've been likely to stay again had we gotten any sleep, but we were exhausted the whole trip. But the people above us had a dog that paced all night so that skews our perspective some. It was perfect for our dog to be outside on the closed in back porch. Porch swing was an added bonus as well as beautiful firepit/sitting area.. There were so many cozy decorative touches. We were in Banner Elk to visit Lees McRae and it was fun to be able to look down at the college and hear the 'bells' ring. The grounds were also lovely. We were a convenient distance to the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster as well as Grandfather Mountain. The host was amazingly responsive - even responding right away when we arrived at midnight and my GPS was trying to take me off the end of the road.
