As is the case with most hotels in Europe, the air conditioning does not operate at this time of year; they fail to take into account—at the very least—those tourists who are accustomed to using it regardless of the season. The room was very basic, despite the fact that we were informed we had received a free upgrade—I would hate to have seen the most basic room.

Great location on the banks of the Rhine River. Several wooded walking trails from the hotel. There is a water filtration pump station right next to the hotel that gives off a foul odor, which is unfortunate.
Staff was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Room was good.

The hotel is located in Altstadt of Basel on a quite street. It's 15 min by walk from Basel SBB or 2 stops away by street car. Museums, cafes restaurants, groceries, and other shops are short walk away from the hotel. The staff is friendly and professional. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Basel is a small city by all means with great transportation options. The transfer from the airport was free thanks to the Baselcard you will be receiving upon check-in. You can show your reservation on the way if asked.
Hotel is right next to the train station and one of the main transport hubs. And all transportation is for free thanks to tourism tax.
The hotel; the reception, the food, the restaurant, the location — everything was top notch!
