Located at the end of a private lane on the edge of Cornwall’s highest village of St Breward, Sandy Barn Cottages comprises three beautifully converted holiday barns (refs B5718, B5719 and W44032) and the owner’s own home, forming a secluded courtyard of 200-year-old granite buildings. The dog-friendly cottages are all tastefully furnished with many character features including slate floors and exposed beams. High View is semi detached with views over neighbouring fields. Ideally situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor for exploring the landscape of tors and moorland. Enjoy walking, cycling, riding, fishing or simply relaxing. The nearest beach of Trebarwith Strand is 20 minutes’ away, but may favourites such as Whitehaven, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Trevone are within 30-40 minutes’. With the beaches of the North Cornwall coast within 12 miles, visitors can enjoy the best of coast and countryside, alternating their days between tranquil landscapes, coastal walks and seaside fun at the beaches. Places of interest such as Wadebridge, Padstow, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel. The National Trust property at Lanhydrock, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also within easy reach for a day out. Sandy Barn Cottages are tucked away, surrounded by fields, but still in the heart of the village. We had such a lovely time staying at High View. Kate was a welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Perfect size for two people. It is nested in a lovely little courtyard surrounded by Kate's other cottages in Saint Breward, a nice little town with a pub/ restaurant and post office should you need any bread and other bits. Would have given 10/10 but my partner didn't find the bed too comfy (definitely personal preference as I found it extremely comfy!!) Myself and my husband had a wonderful stay at High View. Kate was very welcoming, and met us when we arrived after the drive down. The cottage itself has everything you need for your stay and has a great courtyard garden that is a sun trap! The village itself is in a great location and has a wonderful pub and shop only a 5 min walk away. I would certainly recommend High View to any couple who want to visit this part of Cornwall. As you have the moor right on your doorstep with great walks, and villages such as Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Issac only a short drive away. We had a fabulous holiday with our two dogs. There was a tiny little garden which was very useful for the dogs and a lovely place to sit with a cup of coffee overlooking a field and so quiet. The owner, Kate, was very welcoming. The situation was excellent within easy walking distance of the shop and pub, on the edge of Bodmin Moor and a fairly short drive to the beach. Nearly all the pubs are dog friendly.
