There were 11 of us in total from Wisconsin and Virginia. We spent Christmas week together having a wonderful experience up in the mountains. It was so quiet and beautiful in the woods. Overall it was a very relaxing trip and we really enjoyed the fireplace. While the cabin was nice, the number of dead stink bugs and other bugs detracted from the overall enjoyment of the location. We did also have a mouse in the dining room that was dying (I'm assuming from poison that was put out?). The appliances are great and we enjoyed the time at the cabin. The only drawback is that the location is rather remote and the last portion of the road is dirt with low clearance. It was harder to access with a car and low gear was needed to get up the last hill. AWD/4WD and SUV or higher clearance vehicle recommended. It is a great location for a destination stay, but if you are planning on coming and going multiple times the location will make that more difficult. ##### Kristen K. I didnt realize that there was no tv's but thankfully there was wifi, so we watched movies on our phones at night! We loved the quiet location and the pond was such a hit for fishing and for the dog to swim. Loved all the hiking trails nearby and great communication with the host. We did not love that there were a ton of used/perishable items left in the fridge and several used bars of soap left in the bathrooms. Be prepared that the drive to the house is very bumpy and steep and 4 wheel drive will come in handy. We enjoyed making s’mores, bbq’ing, hiking on the trail to the waterfalls and river, and fishing in the pond. While the WiFi wasn’t strong and we couldn’t find the tv, the kids (and adults) were busy and tired at the end of the day. The setting of the living room bunk beds isn’t quite accurate with the picture online, but we didn’t need to use them. Communication with the host and details for directions and important info was awesome. Cleanliness was appropriate for a solitary cabin in the mountain.
