#### Discover a hidden oasis with crystal-clear water and clean, white sand nestled in the valley of mountains between two charming Caribbean towns.

Playa Blanca is a beautiful and tranquil beach nestled in the valley of mountains separating Santa Marta from El Rodadero. It is only accessible via a short boat journey, which means the area is particularly clean and safe. Enjoy the warm and crystal clear ocean water. Look for huts serving fresh seafood caught in the area and vendors offering coconut shell drinks. 

Arrive early in the morning to ensure you can reserve a sun tent and chairs. Relax on a hammock to the sound of the waves while staying cool in the shade of the swaying coconut trees. Boats arrive throughout the afternoon with more travellers. Most people leave the beach late in the afternoon, but you may choose to stay the night in a tent to enjoy it without the crowds.

Try fresh fish from the small huts along the beach. The fees are usually negotiable because there are many restaurants competing for your service. Bargain for low prices from vendors selling succulent fruit, drinks and sunglasses.

Capture photos of the rocky cliffs surrounding the beach. You can see interesting cacti and mountains extending for miles. Enjoy a swim in the warm, clear water. Rent snorkeling gear to take a closer look at the colourful Caribbean fish. Purchase a beach massage from one of the vendors.

To get to Playa Blanca, take a 15-minute boat trip from either El Rodadero to the south or Santa Marta’s Historic Centre to the north. The beach is nestled in the mountains separating the two areas. Prices vary depending on the boat company you use. Prepare to negotiate prices, particularly for larger groups. Make sure to confirm the time and location of your return trip.

Staff was dismissive and lacking in service very much. Ordered coffee at breakfast, never received it. At dinner, ordered wine and received very small glasses, then it took having to wave staff to come over to then pour another little glass. Staff did not want to help with anything.
