Very disappointing five-night stay at Vibe Hotel Sydney. We booked nine months in advance, so this was not a last-minute booking. After a 24-hour journey from the UK, we were exhausted and went straight to bed. The next morning we realised we'd been allocated an accessible/disabled room, despite neither of us being disabled. The room wasn't pleasant, had an awkward layout and lacked basic facilities, including a proper mirror. The biggest issue was the automatic door, which opened by a button and was supposed to close on a timer. One day my partner left and the door failed to close. I came out of the shower naked, unaware the door was wide open onto the corridor. Extremely embarrassing and unacceptable. We complained and were told we'd be contacted about moving rooms. While sightseeing, we received a call asking if we were in the hotel. We weren't, and were told they couldn't move us. We returned and complained again before finally being moved. The second room was fine. Unfortunately, on our final day our room wasn't cleaned, towels weren't replaced and we had run out of shower gel. We had to raise this ourselves before it was eventually sorted. The lifts were another concern. Key cards didn't always work, and on one occasion I became stuck in a lift. The doors wouldn't open, the lift wouldn't move and the emergency call button didn't work. I had to phone my partner, who came to the lift and got it moving. Too many issues for a five-night stay at a hotel that wasn't cheap
