The hotel needed a lot of refurbishment

Posted 03-Aug-2017
Pros: The size of the room and it was near the beech
Cons: The condition of the rooms and the hotel
Location: The beech and lots of restaurants and bars
The room had mould in the bathroom and the bedroom it was dirty, only one towel in the bathroom, the hotel advertised entertainment which started at 8-15pm and finished at 9-00pm

Not as bad as I thought it would be...

Posted 31-Jul-2017
I read all the comments about how awful the Metropole was after I booked it, so my standards were super low. That being the case, the hotel wasn't as bad as everyone says, you just have to expect the worst going in to it. The room was fine- sure pieces of the hotel were literally falling apart but they also had painters in so maybe they're making some effort to put it back together. Just don't spend a lot of time there if you can and don't look too hard at any one thing... It's fine for a 1 night visit when you just need a place to sleep.

Nice hotel, ideally placed on the promenade.

Posted 23-Jul-2017
Pros: Price and location in particular.
Cons: Decor needs work, evidence of slight water damage in some corridors which needs attention.
Location: Central location, close to shops and many attractions, including Blackpool tower,Madame Tussauds and the Dungeons, all well within walking distance.
Very good value for money, good location for central seafront area.Staff were very helpful, asked to put ice blocks for picnic bag in their freezer overnight and they were more than happy to oblige. We enjoyed our brief stay and would certainly go back again.

Shocking Hotel

Posted 17-Jul-2017
The pictures from the website with its big spacious lovely rooms and grand entrance make it look far far far better than it actually is, firstly we tried to get parked in car park as the hotel advertises it, only to find that it was overcrowded and we couldn't park there, spoke to the receptionist who said yeah u need to park in the street at a pay and display till the shops close as they charge no residents to let them use car park!!!! Eh I think the hotel guests should come first? We were then given our key to room 4 where we were told its through the doors to the left ( 10 turns and 3 corridors later we found it ) only to see that the room was tiny and we had to turn on our sides to get in the room past the dreadful so called wardrobe, we then noticed the bed was rock solid and the walls were covered in black marks and really dirty, we left immediately back to reception to ask for another room but told no sorry hotel full, we did get our money back after the receptionist phoned the manager to ask if it was ok lol, this is an honest review and if you look at my next review about the Dutchman Hotel along the road you will see that I write the truth, sorry no pictures but turned and walked away without thinking

Hotel needing done up.

Posted 13-Jul-2017
Hotel is very badly needing down up. Full hotel smells off smoke as they have smoking in bedrooms. All our clothes that were in room had all to be washed as the small off smoke was terrible. All carpets and wall coverings need replaced. A would never stay at this hotel again.

Hotel needs some redecoration Cleaning left a lot to be desired.. we found carrier bags with rubbish in behind the headboard! Had to ask for clean towels and one sachet of coffee and three decaffinated teabags was a bit ridiculous!!!!
