After having heard the really bad reviews on this hotel we expected the worst, however apart from the carpets in the corridors leading to the rooms needing hoovering we were pleasantly surprised of the overall experience. The staff were very friendly and made sure that our two booked rooms were near each other; one room had sea view and the other the back of the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. Yes it does need a lick of paint but for the price you pay it is worth it! If you only need a room just to sleep then you can enjoy the location of the hotel right in front of the North Pier and within walking distance of the shopping area bars restaurants The Tower and Winter Gardens. So yes I would stay again as I know what I am expecting and for less than half the price of other nearby hotels.

This hotel did have a large room for the price which was good but the bathroom was dirty I liked that me and my partner didn’t get disturbed as if you wanted the room cleaning you only had to ask at reception and they would do it the day after which was good I would stay again but I would ask for a front view as we had a room on the side

The staff were excellent and rooms clean. However as someone with a disability both lifts went out of order so long flight of stairs meant problems. Plug in heater in the room fused into the socket. Could have started a major fire. Will definitely return but only when the refurb complete. Price was excellent value for money

Poor Hotel, poorly renovated.
Poor from start to finish. Room was small and very basic, not anything like the images they have on their website. Bathroom had black mould all around the bottom of the shower. The waterproof membrane in the bathroom was lifting and peeling. Bed was uncomfoatable, with only 2 very flat and cheap pillows, and then we were woken by other guests screaming and creating in the hallway way after midnight. Would not recommend.

Tired & dirty hotel but with wonderful staff
So this hotel used to be a Travelodge so a lot of the original fixtures and fittings are still in place - the red bathroom tiles, the blue carpet. Typical Travelodge Facelift rooms, but boy have they been badly maintained since. Moved room 3 times - first had blood all over the mattress protector, so thick that I could see it through the bedsheets. Second had sewer gas coming up through the shower drain, third had the noisiest air con/heater in the world but Reception gave me a (brand new, wrapped) electric heater which worked just fine. Saving grace here is the staff, they’re honestly really helpful and must get so fed up of dealing with maintenance and cleaning issues, so to remain cheerful and offer solutions makes them a real credit. If only the owners/management invested the profits back into the fabric of the building this could be a great hotel in a perfect location.
