Nice Cottage Close to Town
Just as advertised, this is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage. It is a detached accessory unit and not a “house”, but provided plenty of privacy, even with the host onsite. Parking is as described, but you do need to maneuver a few gates to get to the front porch. The fenced yard with the firepit looks nice for spending time outside. The gazebo is now enclosed and is used as storage. The kitchen has everything one would need to cook meals. The Keurig in the pictures has been replaced with a coffee maker (which we prefer) with plenty of coffee in the pantry. The pantry and refrigerator both were stocked with supplies, but some of it was dated and should probably be tossed. The futon in the living room was good enough to watch some TV, but as with many futons, it’s not super comfortable as either a bed or a couch. The TV seems to have cable, but we plugged in a laptop by HDMI for streaming. The WiFi worked great. The bed was comfortable. Check in and check out are easy, and the directions for finding the place are good. The area had a country feel that we really liked. There were small ponds and streams running throughout, and the sound of the water flowing was an added surprise. Downtown Bishop was minutes away. It can be hard to find a nice, small, place like this with privacy and it was perfect for us as a couple. The host has prepared the place very well, probably one of the best we’ve seen. We really enjoyed our stay, would stay here again, and highly recommend it.

Nice cozy Bishop cottage
This cottage is perfect for a couple wanting some peace & quiet. It has a full kitchen suitable for those wishing to cook with all the cookware & utensils you'd need. Also a toaster oven & microwave & drip coffee machine. The bed & pillows were quite comfortable. The bathroom had tons of towels, hair dryer, hair straightener, & curling iron (wow!). There seemed to be unlimited quantities of hot water and the heater was more than sufficient to keep the whole place nice & toasty. Best of all, it has a manual thermostat, so the owner isn't controlling the temperature like the last 3 places we've stayed.😊 Kim is an accommodating hostess without being underfoot at all. We would definitely stay again.

Cleanest property we've ever stayed at. We go to Mammoth 2x a yr, so that is saying something. Very nice, communicative host. Pantry was something unexpexted with all the goodies! Fire pit at night with all the stars!

Thanksgiving Stay
We had a great stay, the house is beautiful and so cozy. We came up to visit my mother in law at the care center and it was so nice to come back to a comfortable place to just relax. We will definitely stay here again.

Perfect for our weekend fly-fishing trip
We found the this small home to be exactly as advertised and perfect for our three day stay in Bishop. The unit was very clean and Kim has provided the cottage with all the amenities that one could need to enjoy your stay as a jumping off point to the surrounding areas. Would definitely stay there again.

We were so happy with this rental. The space is small, but perfectly fine for three. Warm, great location for climbing, good WiFi, and the host is so welcoming. She left a bunch of treats and basic foods for us to make our stay better. We'd stay here again!

A sweet place with lots of home comforts
The cottage is in a nice rural/suburban neighborhood, close to roads that took us where we were going, but not too close to town. Lots of space and quiet, inside and out. The owner, Kim, goes above and beyond to be warm and welcoming. Her attitude is "contact me if you need anything." The place has more towels and various supplies than you could possibly need. She also provides a pantry full of breakfast food, condiments, snacks, oil and vinegar, herbs, beverages (even decaf, thank you!) chocolates, etc. She left a lovely bottle of wine and was just generally a very nice person. (I just wish I hadn't been pressured to buy insurance while making the reservation--I've never had that experience before but is it a new trend on VRBO?)

Cute Little Cottage
Property was difficult to locate for my 86 year old parents who were following the directions given by email. Cottage was very clean, cozy and well stocked. A big plus was that it was just down the street from the hospital which helped after dad had his 4 hour dialysis treatment. My parents loved the welcome basket. Their only complaint was that the bed was not firm enough for them.

Cozy cottage with all of the amenities needed!
Kim was a very gracious host, and has thought of everything travelers might need for a home away from home, including plentiful towels and many kitchen extras, such as cooking oils, spices and condiments. The cozy cottage is perfect for two, with a full kitchen and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The location was a short distance from the main area of Bishop in a quiet neighborhood. It was a very restful and enjoyable place to stay!

Perfect guesthouse in Bishop!
I've been on my many climbing trips to Bishop over the years-and Kim's guesthouse is by far the best place I've stayed! Beautiful little cottage with everything you need. Kim is also a very generous host, and was kind enough to take us out to dinner one night! We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay!
I had a fantastic stay at Kim's little cottage. The place has everything you need, and also has a really spacious yard to spend time in as well! Kim does a wonderful job to make the guests feel at home. She's an amazing host! I would 100% stay here again if I was back in Bishop. The only thing worth mentioning is that the wi-fi can be a bit spotty at times.

The home is just as stated. Kim, the owner, is a wonderful woman who wants her guests to be happy. I really liked that the property is well lit, so if you go out in the evening plenty of lighting goes on. Everything you could need for cooking is there. Thanks for the great stay, Kim!

Great place from which to explore the area.
This charming cottage, located in a quiet residential neighborhood provides privacy and the perfect home base for exploring the natural beauty of the area. The cottage has its own large yard and a well-stocked kitchen. We chose to cook most of our meals and it was easy to buy provisions in the grocery stores in town. The Great Basin Bakery was perfect for sandwiches as well as breads, cookies, and pastry. (The café in Spellbinders Books was also recommended, but we didn’t have a chance to visit it.) The host was very friendly and responsive. She cares about the property and keeps it well maintained. The rooms were clean and well furnished. There were three of us and we were very comfortable sharing the space. There were plenty of extra towels, pillows, and blankets. Amenities like soap, shampoo, paper towels, etc., were also provided. During our stay, Kim dropped off several other items, making sure we had everything we needed. Bishop is surrounded by spectacular natural beauty. We enjoyed the canal paths; a hike through the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest and the Sierra View Lookout area along the way; a hike on the Little Lakes Valley Trail in Inyo National Forest, and the Convict Lake Trail. There is so much to explore in this area. Returning to Kim’s cottage each evening was a great way to end the day.

Cozy and immaculate cottage
If you are a clean freak (as we are) looking for all the amenities for a comfortable and peaceful stay, this is the place! My husband and I were blown away by how spotless everything was. The good quality towels and sheets smelled fresh. The cupboards and pantry had everything you could possibly need for preparing meals, coffee or roasting marshmallows outside on the fire pit. Not to mention all the treats! Bottle of wine, chocolate and Haagen-Daz for you enjoyment ! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Kim, sweet lady! Extremely accommodating and helpful with local information. I would give her 10 stars if I could. Definitely the place to stay in Bishop!

Great hospitality and a comfortable guesthouse!
Kim has deep experience in the hospitality business and it shows. It seemed like she’d really thought of everything that could make her guests feel at home, and made sure that she – along with her sidekick Linda – were readily available in case we wished for something. The VRBO images give an accurate picture of the guesthouse and the backyard, but don’t do justice to how comfortable and private the place is. The garden window, granite countertops and an adjacent table in the kitchen make it an easy place to make meals. The kitchen is also fully equipped for cooking – from appliances to pantry basics – and we cooked meals there every night. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcoming gifts. Those seeking more nightlife will want to be prepared for a relatively short drive to town, but the rural location and proximity to the trailheads in the Sierra were perfect for us. And, lastly, we were able to meet Kim and enjoy her warm personality. We could easily imagine staying for much longer – and would seek out a return if we’re in the area.

Super cottage

Kim was a wonderful host. I can't wait to return. The quick drive to mammoth in the morning was easy for getting to the slopes early and the town of bishop is much nicer than mammoth.

Kim is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. The place was spotless, when we arrived she had treats waiting in the house, put in extra food for the kids, brought over a game and toys for my children. She went out of her way to be so generous and thoughtful. I would reccomend this rental to anyone. Kim made our stay in Bishop wonderful and we are so thankful for that.

Wonderful charming cottage in a beautiful Bishop
The property was small but so comfortable. Bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom were all clean, functional, and well decorated. The key pad check in is super efficient. Parking and tons of lawn space available to hang out and relax. Kim made the stay great. She made sure there were plenty of towels, linens, and an air mattress available for our group. She even went out of her way to personalize our stay. I can't say enough nice things about Kim and our stay. Would definitely come back and stay here. Roger

We rented this property for a few days to visit the Ancient Bristlecone Pines (which were themselves amazing, a highlight of our month long road trip). It is a well-maintained cottage in the back yard of the owner, in a quiet neighborhood with a creek running through it. The cottage included everything we needed for our stay. In addition to the usual items, the pantry was stocked with food items available to guests. The owner was very welcoming, and even offered that we could stay an additional night without charge because it was not rented for the immediately following day. We were also pleasantly surprised by Bishop itself, which we weren't previously familiar with. It is a cute western town, much more green than we expected, with an excellent bakery (Erick Schat's, which we visited several times), a good pizza place (Upper Crust), good grocery stores and a few cute shops.

Terrific Host, Clean, comfortable accommodations
This home was a lovely getaway for my husband and me. Ultra clean, well appointed, a super comfortable bed and all the amenities you'd need. Kim was the most gracious host, and would have fulfilled all of our requests if we had any. She had supplied everything we needed, and more. We didn't have time to enjoy the backyard and fire pit, but it looked very welcoming. We would definitely return to this home.

Kim is amazing she was there to greet us when we arrived with welcome arms. The cottage is so beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything a home should have. She left a bottle of wine to welcome us and brought over a dozen fresh eggs and 2 bottles of homemade fruit preservative. We felt so at home and had an amazing weekend in Bishop. Thank you!
