About this property

Ski-in/ski-out Moonlight Basin home w/private hot tub - Saddle Ridge - Iron Horse Haven Chalet

  • Welcome to Saddle Ridge - Iron Horse Haven Chalet, where the slopes are literally your front yard.

This is not your average ski-in/ski-out property. This 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom Saddle Ridge townhome sits directly on the slope, just steps from the Iron Horse lift. Strap on your skis from the front door and you are on the mountain in seconds. No shuttles, no carrying gear, no wasted time. Choose your adventure — Big Sky or Moonlight Basin — both are right there.

The main level is where you will want to gather. A two-story vaulted great room with a gas fireplace and views in every direction sets the tone the moment you walk in. Lone Peak feels close enough to touch. The open layout flows into a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar for three and a dining area for six. Step out onto the deck, fire up the gas grill, and take in the mountain air while dinner comes together.

Upstairs, the first bedroom has a queen bed and a double bed with its own private bathroom, perfect for families or friends sharing a room. Head downstairs and you will find the second bedroom, a true retreat. Queen bed, twin bed, a large private bathroom with double vanity and an oversized tub and shower, and a flat screen TV. This bedroom walks directly out to the private hot tub with some of the most breathtaking views you will ever soak in. Lone Peak, Andesite Mountain, the slopes, and the entire Big Sky Valley stretched out in front of you.

Seven guests, two mountains, one unforgettable ski trip. Iron Horse Haven Chalet is waiting for you.

    Winter
Big Sky Resort is the biggest skiing in America, and it earns that title every single year. With 5,800 skiable acres, 4,350 feet of vertical drop, and an average of 400+ inches of snowfall annually, it delivers for every level of skier and rider. When you are ready to step off the slopes, the historic Lone Mountain Ranch has 85+ kilometers of groomed Nordic trails through the wilderness, voted the #1 cross-country ski resort in North America. Beyond that, Yellowstone National Park, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing, and world-class spa experiences are all within easy reach.

    Summer
The mountains do not slow down when the snow melts. Within minutes you have world-class fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and zip-lining at your doorstep. Follow the scenic Gallatin River along historic Highway 191 and you are at the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park in just 45 minutes. Stay long enough and you will find free concerts, farmers markets, and weekly events scattered throughout the season.

Great ski spot

Perfect ski in/ ski out condo. It is spacious and well equipped and very close to moonlight lodge. We had a perfect vacation, and enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of skiing. I would highly recommend it! A lovely gift basket of goodies was a great welcoming too!

Great location & comfortable

Can't beat the ski in/out location of this unit. Ski right out of and into your back door. Well stocked kitchen, large washer/dryer, and spacious layout helped to make our stay most enjoyable. The space heater downstairs definitely helped to regulate the temp down there. Excellent view too!

Great skiing!

Great slope access. Place is smaller than it appears in photos. It is well equipped and convenient. Only gripe is coffee pot that won't pour without spilling and no decent chefs knife that would allow dicing everything was serrated but these are very minor flaws in the big picture. I would stay there again. Great time overall. B

Saddle Ridge E3

The property is exactly as depicted. Very comfortable for 4-6. The basics were in great supply - plenty of bowls, plates, cups and glasses. The living area was very comfortable. The design of the condo allows for a quiet night's sleep in each bedroom.

Stay here, you won't regret it

Well organized and clear communication made this property a breeze to get into, figure out, and clean up at the end. (We might have forgotten to turn on the dishwasher though, whoops!) Lots of thoughtful touches throughout, a binder full of good information, good communication before, during and after our stay. Highly recommend.

Great Condo!

Great property! This place was perfect for us and one other couple but definitely room to fit more in the rooms if need be. Loved that the 2 bedrooms were on the 1st and 3rd floors so you didn’t feel like cramped at all. Everything was very clean and well kept. Location was amazing, this unit was 2 doors down from a small hill that led directly to the lift access. Definitely the definition of ski in/ski out. Went in thinking we wouldn’t use the hot tub all that much but ended up in it every night after skiing. View was absolutely amazing and perfect after a long day of skiing. Thanks for a memorable trip and for dumping 2 feet of powder while we were there :)

Peaceful getaway

We rented this to celebrate my Dad’s 70th birthday. We had 5 adults and 2 children. We had plenty of space and the kitchen, dining room and living room being open is perfect for family gatherings and friends. The view was spectacular. We were basically the only ones up there during our stay which made it so peaceful and relaxing for us. We cooked every meal at home and had all of the supplies we needed. We really appreciated that because most vacation rentals now provide very few amenities. The hot tub was a bonus. I sat in it this morning with my 5 year old before checking out. Thank you for providing the perfect space for my family to celebrate our Dad.

FANTASTIC CONDO - MIGHT BE BEST SKI IN, SKI OUT ON THE MOUNTAIN

Perfect. Fully equipped. Very comfortable. Very clean. Lower level is warm (some Saddle Ridge units are not). Three doors away from Moonlight lodge and lift access to both Big Sky and Moonlight runs. Moonlight lodge features a bar, good dining, lift tickets, and a small store. Private after ski hot tub right outside the unit is clean and relaxing. Nice views of the mountain and and the valley. Sunrise is amazing. Sunset is nice too. Property management team is excellent. Reservation, check-in, etc all very easy. They respond to emails quick. They also were prompt in removing snow from the unit entry. Nicest touch; a welcome basket with hand warmers, chocolates, etc when we arrived. Can't beat this unit. We will be reserving again.

Perfect for us

The house was exactly what we wanted although, it may not be for everyone. I love the proximity to the slopes - really right on it, the bedding and the towels were quality, the views were spectacular. The kitchen was well equipped and the washing machine and dryer were huge (although quite loud). What you may like that made no difference to us was the TV was awful - we only watched a few minutes of the masters, but it was small and hard to figure out. The master bedroom had a twin bed that our son slept in - again, those downsides were not important to us but maybe something of which someone would want to be aware. I love a house that lets renters leave behind spices, unopened pantry food, shampoo etc. It seems such a waste when places throw all that out. The pantry was nicely stocked. Our family loved the place. Thanks.

Big Sky winter skiing

Had a great time. Nice place, nothing real fancy but nice and could sleep many people. Everything worked great. You don't ski out from the door but it is just a short walk around the corner of the building to ski right onto a lift for great access to Big Sky. You are a little isolated form the restaurants and shopping in the mountain village and the town. The best restaurants are in the town which is a 20 minute drive and the road was snow covered and icy the whole time we were there which I thought was dangerous driving down the mountain. This would affect my stay here again but the condo was very nice and Big Sky is a great ski resort with awesome customer service and tons of snow. To get access to the beautiful Moonlight Lodge right next door costs $100 per day just to use the building. Would be nice to eat there and have access to the pool and exercise facilities but $100 seems like too much for just the access. Would be nice for the owners to negotiate a better deal than that if possible.

Great spot for entire family

When we began planning our trip to Big Sky I had not considered Moonlight Basin because I was not familiar with it. Thanks to an acquaintance who knows the area, we discovered the perfect place to vacation. The above condo in Moonlight Basin was more than we ever bargained for. The place is well maintained, clean, beautifully furnished, and the owners are more than helpful. They were easy to communicate with via phone or email. They were extremely accommodating, which was wonderful, since there were two toddlers staying in the condo.(pack and play, booster seats, etc) The area of Moonlight Basin is gorgeous. It is much quieter than the Big Sky Village are, but only a casual walk down the hill (or a quick drive) Grocery stores are about 15 minutes away, and there are a few more activities for kids in the Big Sky villages. However, Moonlight Basin has a beautifully maintained pool and lodge with a staff that is "kid friendly". There are several trial heads right at Moonlight Basin that suit all ages and ability. The Tuesday night barbecue with live music provides fun for the entire family. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a place to rent in the Big Sky area. The price is excellent, the owners are wonderful and helpful in everyday, and the area is spectacular.

Iron Horse

Great condo! Location is excellent and is a true ski in - ski out. Unlike many that claim to be! It was perfect for the four of us that stayed there. The unit is well equipped with supplies and utensils. Only criticism might be the hot tub. It is round and more than three people would be cramped. This would not deter us from coming back though. Stay Montana did a great job communicating.
