About this property
Big Horn Unit, Slopeside, Big Sky
With plenty of space for families with children or large groups of friends, this 3 bedroom, 3 full + 1 half bathroom rustic condo is ideally located less than 100 feet from the Bear Back Poma Lift at Big Sky Mountain Resort. Here are just a few highlights: • Immediate ski lift access • A cozy stone fireplace • Privacy & easy social distancing • Convenient to shops & restaurants at the Mountain Village
Cozy and charming, this Bison Run property sports a vaulted and beamed ceiling, fully-equipped kitchen, and gorgeous stone fireplace with electric fireplace. Ample linens and towels are provided.
There are tile floors in the entry, kitchen, and bathrooms. The layout features en-suite baths for each bedroom, and many furnishings have been recently updated to include new appliances throughout.
While our pictures show carpeted downstairs, we replaced it with hardwood flooring. In 2022: all windows were replaced, all rooms painted, all new external siding. The half bath was added at end of 2022.
Internet connectivity is via Starlink with connectivity speeds consistently above 120mbps. Tv's all have Roku devices for streaming content via your own app.
In winter, the best part of this condo is the immediate, out-the-door mountain access. During the day guests can easily drop by the condo for a break and then quickly get onto the mountain again, all without having to spend time within the resort's busy dining areas.
The nearby Bear Back poma Lift provides access to a short skiable pathway down to Swifty and Ramcharger lifts. These two lifts serve the entire mountain.
In summer, there is equally easy access to a number of outdoor activities: panoramic hiking trails, abundant fly fishing, and white water rafting.
A vacation at this location offers you an eclectic mix of amenities and eateries right from your doorstep. Our neighborhood is calm and private. We are perfectly adjacent to the Big Sky Resort Mountain Village, which is a close walking distance to the restaurants and shops in the Mountain Mall basecamp area. We would be happy to suggest our favorite places for you to visit.

Host was beyond exceptional! Most responsive host I've ever had. Place was clean, well appointed, perfect! Ski in/ski out was easy and made the trip even better!
Our host was so attentive and responded quickly to questions! The condo was so clean and homey. We tend to eat at home on ski trips and the kitchen had everything we needed! Can’t wait to come back:)
We had a fantastic time! Some of the best ski conditions we've had in a long time. The townhouse is well appointed, and in an excellent location with respect to access to the ski hill, the village and the town of Big Sky. The hosts were wonderful in providing an easy check in and info regarding groceries, lift passes, and weather! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Great property. Might as well be ski-in/ski-out, it’s that close to the Poma lift. Chris was amazing. Super responsive and helpful. We’ll stay there again!
Excellent location. Walk to the access lift quickly. Close to mountain mall shops and restaurants. Had very nice skiing. Could take quiet walks down Low Dog road with our 11month old grandchild while other adults were skiing.
This was a perfect condo for our families first ski trip! Always better renting a family home than a dedicated rental unit. Located about 5 min walk from the mountain village, plenty of space for 6 (4 kids). Condo had a fully equipped kitchen with good quality cookware, we appreciated the washer/dryer and boot dryer as well, family board games etc. The owner was in constant communication with us and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you!
The house was just as described. We had communication with the owner throughout the stay. The home is right by the POMA lift. We had 5 adults and plenty of room. It was nice to have the things light herbs, pantry items, and basic refrigerator items there to be used. Lastly, there are neighborhood foxes that have a routine walking through the neighborhood. It was fantastic. We will rent again. It was also nice to have a true VRBO and not one run by a rental company.
This was by far the best experience I have had with VRBO. The owner was extremely nice and responsive. He provided information about and beyond what is usual. The property was perfect. Perfect location near a t-bar lift for slope access. The three bedrooms were well-appointed. He even added humidifiers in each room, which was an excellent touch. The property had everything needed for the vacation, including a well-stocked kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed the vacation and will definitely be coming back in the future. We really appreciate how responsive and willing to share information the owner was. He made the process so easy and smooth compared to other VRBO experiences. If you are visiting Big Sky, this property is perfect!
This unit epitomizes what a VRBO is supposed to be. Chris, the owner, has a great condo in a great location. Clearly he uses the unit for himself and has been able to rent it out part time. His communication in the months leading up to our rental was perfect. He gave recommendations and guidance. The unit itself was everything we hoped it to be. It’s fully stocked and even has niceties such as a foam roller for all of the sore muscles after skiing, a small acoustic guitar that my husband enjoyed strumming, humidifiers for the below zero temps, a boot drier, and many more little things that make it a home. The photos dont show the great entryway with dozens of hooks and cubbies to hang/store all the coats, gloves, etc. If this place is available don’t think twice about booking it.
This place is amazing. Its a 1 min walk to the chairlift and an easy ski in to the door if there is snow on the road. If not its a 30 second walk from there. The house is stocked with everything you need. The host was great. Communicated very well and gave some great tips for getting back to the house from the mountain.
The owner was great and the place was fantastic. Each room had a private bathroom and the main floor had a powder room. The short walk to the poma lift was great. Had a wonderful vacation
We had a week at this wonderful location . Chris responded immediately to any questions. The accommodation is warm and cozy and amenities are great. We were so close to the Black Bear Poma , which allows easy access to the mountain lifts. We will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity to come here again .
We truly enjoyed Chris's townhome. Having a bathroom for each bedroom and a fully stocked kitchen was very nice. The location is fantastic: a short walk to the poma lift and a ski back right to the front door. Having a ski entrance is also so very nice. Thank you, we will be back.
Cannot say enough great thin great things about Chris/owner. Awesome communciation, always checking in to make sure any questions/gave so many suggestions abt BS mountain, food, overall scene. Place was clean, gorgeous, all amenities...A+++++++
Comfortably housed 3 couples. 3 1/2 bathrooms provided plenty of privacy. Kitchen big enough for 2-3 people to move around ( have stayed in condos where too narrow for more than one to move comfortably).
Beds comfortable. Big garage and mud room. Had everything we needed.
The best part was walking across the street to the poma lift and a short walk up to the mountain village to shops and restaurants.

Excellent location and clean
Owner is very responsive and friendly, and was overly accommodative by allowing us to stay late in the day on our departure date. The location is extremely convenient with ski in/ski out directly across the street from the unit. The townhouse was well kept and clean. My only advice would be to heed the owner's comment that there is no soap or shampoo provided, so bring your own! The only negative is that there is not an onsite hot tub. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a great property and served our family group of 5 adults perfectly. The condo is literally steps to a lift, couldn't be easier to ski/board out and return. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to cook our meals, having everything we needed. The unit was comfortable and met our expectations from the accurate description. The owner (Chris) was extremely attentive, checking with us to ensure everything was going well and provided great insight to the mountain for our first time visit to Big Sky. Thanks for the great time!

Excellent in every possible way!
My family discovered the secret of vacation rentals about three years ago and have made a point to beat the summer heat of Texas every July by heading to the mountain states. As such we've had the pleasure of renting homes in various locations and have learned to come prepared because you never know what to expect.
The owner of this unit has everything very well planned. The location is fantastic, the beds and furniture are comfortable, the unit is spacious and very up to date. The cupboards are well stocked... I can't think of a single complaint! It's exactly as I would stock a rental if I were an owner... very detail oriented.
Each room had a very nice TV, Internet access was fantastic (as much as I'm on vacation, I'm a geek and like to get online after hiking and swimming all day).
While this rental does not have a pool, if you head north towards Bozeman, just before Four Corners there is a fantastic spa that has 9 pools ranging in temperature from 56 - 106 degrees. All but one pool is indoors, making it great all year long.
Chris was the most communicative property owner-host I've ever had. He offered up tons of helpful information in advance and then answered literally every random question I had. You can tell the difference between someone who rents their own vacation home vs just a company who has a host that just fields questions.
The condo was THE CLEANEST rental ever. Like fancy hotel clean.
The condo had everything we needed- sufficient and good quality kitchen tools, appliances, etc. We prepared all meals in the condo- we never lacked for anything in the kitchen.
All the bedrooms had extra bedding- which is great for the winter.
All the bathrooms had abundant towels and such.
The big TV in the living room was great- so many times the tvs in rentals never work. This was flawless. Kids were jazzed.
The location was perfect for us- easy walk across the little street to the lift- and once we figured out the way back home on the runs, it couldn't be any easier. Chris gave us all the tips!
We got lucky with this place! We will be back :)
The property was clean and larger than expected. The location was great for day trips to Yellowstone, it was roughly an hour drive to the western entrance. There was a lake within walking distance where the kids kayaked while I caught brook trout on my fly rod. The base of the mountain was also within walking distance. If your not into downhill mountain biking there is 3 scenic ski lift rides up the mountain. The host was very responsive when a minor snafu occurred during the stay. The condos’ exteriors were being renovated and the construction crew left building materials in the driveway. The host quickly rectified the situation and the next morning the materials were moved.
We loved the proximity to the poma and the ease of being able to walk to the Mountain Village if needed. We did breakfast and dinner in the condo everyday and lunch at the mountain. It worked perfectly.
