10/10 Excellent
"We went on a couples trip and this location was perfect for the summer. The lake nearby was great and there was plenty of space. The host was super responsive."
"Cabin was incredible! Clean, private, rustic, perfect furnishings, and super comfortable beds! Screened in porch is a huge bonus (spent most of our time there)! Top notch location for hiking - don’t miss the AT at the top of the road. Will definitely be back!"

8/10 Good
"The house & location are wonderful. We were there for a week & we totally enjoyed ourselves. The difference between a good house & an excellent house is that everything works in an excellent house. There are a few items that do need attention. (1) The lock on the back door to the patio was broken when we arrived. We were all surprised it was not fixed before our arrival. I reported it the first day but it never was fixed. A temporary solution was offered the day before we left. (2) The water pressure is poor. A plumber was sent out the first day to try to fix it. An air lock was the problem and venting that was only a temporary solution. We were a total of 6 adults & only one person could take a shower at a time. If two people showered, one shower would just trickle. If the sink in the kitchen was on at the same time, one of the showers would stop for a minute. An air lock in the pipes would ensue. For a house that is supposed to sleep 10, that is just not acceptable. (3) Hot water. The last person to shower never had enough. (4) No dressers. 3 couples with clothes for a week. The limited shelving in the closets were not enough. (5) No full length mirrors. (6) The internet kicks you off randomly. (7) The pool table would be great if there weren’t an obvious slant that gathered the balls on one side of the table. The surface of the table has a tear & there was no chalk for the cue sticks. (8) The dock has no cleats. There are poles at each end of the dock that be used."
"This was our second stay in the home and it was equally wonderful!. We really loved our stay at the Lakefront Otis Home during mid-May. The property and area is as beautiful in the Spring as the Fall and is very tranquil and peaceful, day and night. The stars are wonderful as well and the Pond provided some fun wildlife experiences as well, like Beaver, Canada geese, porcupine, and tons of birds. The boat and kayak that are provided were super fun and the fishing on the pond is quite good, as well as very relaxing! Driving the area is a treat as there are pretty views on any of the roads leading to the house (the drive to Tyringham is gorgeous). The lovely house is big with 2 floors and a nice entry/mud room but super comfy and modern. The open floor plan was airy and bright and is stocked with great furnishings, linens, art, and decor, and there are lots of nooks to just relax, or gaze out the windows at the pond while having morning coffee on the upper deck porch. The Hot tub was awesome and surrounded by a beautiful new deck! The house has everything you need for a peaceful stay in the Berkshires and the kitchen is well equipped if you want to prepare large or small meals, with great new appliances. The Hosts are incredibly responsive, helpful and informative will answer any questions quickly."
"Richard’s house is beautiful and fully equipped for a group of eight. It was spotless when we arrived. We had come for a small retreat and the house and surrounding area are so beautiful that we didn’t want to leave even to go see Stockbridge! Still, grocery stores, restaurants, and shops are a short drive away. Serious hiking and easy walks were available for every level of desired physical activity. Richard was easy to reach and extremely responsive when we needed to get in touch with him, and he graciously took care of our small problem in less than an hour from when we contacted him. We enjoyed the house so much that we ate hoping to return for another retreat next year."
"We had coordinated an early check-in, but when we arrived, the house hadn’t been cleaned yet which was a miscommunication. I reached out to Catherine and she promptly responded and got the cleaners RIGHT over. The house was spotless and in wonderful condition for the rest of our stay, and it was dealt with very quickly and wonderfully. Would definitely stay again. The house was great for our girls trip. Also the beds are very comfortable!! "
"Good location relative to Butternut, house was clean and well appointed all be it a little tired but the view is spectacular. Incredible view of the lake, I bet the fall and summer views are very memorable. Everything worked well, no complaints. The working wood fireplace was a treat for me. "
