Waterfront Bethany Beach Cottage, Walk to Beach, Fish, Kayak - Dewey Rehoboth

This three bedroom, two full bath, with outdoor shower, Waters Edge Retreat Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing family vacation. The Cottage is located in the private gated community at South Shore Marina - at the north end of Bethany Beach, just miles from Dewey, Rehoboth & Ocean City Beaches.

With the multiple sliders and windows looking out to the Indian River Bay, this Cottage will become a family favorite for summer trips. The Cottage is walking distance to Delaware Seashore State Park (6/10ths of a mile), where you can enjoy a guarded beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The Indian River Bay surrounds the home and provides an amazing landscape for relaxation and some of the best sunsets you will ever see!

This Cottage has been newly updated with modern decor and is an ideal summer getaway. The multiple living areas allow you to gather with your family and friends, while also having privacy and space.

Spend the day at the beach or take part in the activities offered by Delaware Seashore State Park or all that the local beach communities have to offer. In the evening wind down with dinner and live music overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or Indian River Bay at either Big Chill or Hammerheads, our two local restaurants.

The cottage has bikes, kayaks, beach chairs and so much more for our guests use. The cottage also has direct water access for guests to launch kayaks directly from the rental.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a great family meal or choose to grill on the deck overlooking the Bay. When the sun goes down and things move inside, its time to play games or cards with family and friends or enjoy a movie on one of the large smart TVs. The three season room with sofas, TV and game table provides a great space for kids to hang out.

The Cottage is a short drive to all of the area attractions including: Rehoboth, Dewey, Fenwick Island and Ocean City, MD beaches, outlet shopping, brewery tours, golf, boating, jet skiing, fishing, amazing food and restaurants and so much more!

Ideal vacation cottage!

We loved staying at this home. It had everything we needed, and was very relaxing. Don’t forget your binoculars (for some spectacular sea bird viewing) — actually we were able to watch a gorgeous heron right out the window! The owner was totally responsive: before, during and after our stay.

Family summer vacation

Excellent location. We brought our own kayaks and enjoyed the extra’s provided. 15 minute walk to the beach or 3 minute bike ride. Enjoyed the sand bar in the bay to watch the sunsets. House is much larger than it appears. Plenty of living space. Great deck and table for outside dinners iverloiking the water.

An opportunity to disconnect and reconnect in comfort

Can’t say enough about this well appointed cottage. We began each day with coffee overlooking the bay before kayaking, time on the beach, and relaxing with family on the deck.The owner was great to work with, the cottage was clean, spacious and very comfortable! While we took advantage of the well equipped kitchen to cook a few meals, the neighborhood is secluded and private, but close enough to venture out for a nice evening of fine dining and fresh seafood. We hope to make this an annual family gathering place.

Beach Family Getaway

Wonderful time! Very quiet location and “private” yet close to exciting social places- 5 minutes from “party-town” Dewey and 10 minutes to family -oriented Bethany Beach. This place has lots to offer with kayaks, bikes, and safe walking/biking areas. Right on the bay with a 5 minute car ride, 10 minute bike ride, and 15-20 minute walk to beach. Inside was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and AC nice and cold. Will be back at this location!😊

Beautiful retreat for sister's weekend

My three sisters and I had a wonderful weekend at the cottage! There was so much to love--the location, the layout, the VIEW! Some of the little details I appreciated were the ceiling fans (great for white noise lovers such as myself), the firmness of the mattresses (perfect), the large shower heads and strong water pressure, and plenty of room to park. Jason was very pleasant, accommodating, and quick to respond when I had trouble getting through the gate at the front of the community. All was resolved quickly and we enjoyed a perfect weekend!

Hidden Gem!

we really hesitate to share information about this home but we will be nice! location, location, location! stunning views in a fairly quiet neighborhood (couple of dogs running around and barking and neighbors doing work..but it was off-season so completely understand). the family room and deck are fantastic. our family loved the kayak (we brought 3 of our own) and it was awesome for hubby and i to actually see them in the water was so much fun. definitely recommend but selfishly want to keep it secret!

Beach Gem

This cottage is even better than the pictures! I took my young adult sons there for a fishing trip because the inlet is so close. It was so nice to have a short drive to the inlet, the beach and the great Big Chill restaurant - we had a good dinner there. The house is very spacious with enough room for folks to spread out. There were only three of us, but the house can comfortably hold a lot more. All amenities were as described and the kitchen was well-stocked with the basics. Don't forget bed sheets, pillow cases and towels, which the owner points out in the description. The area is beautiful for walking or biking, with Dewey and Bethany and all their fun close by. We went to the Rehoboth outlets when it rained one afternoon. And we took advantage of the kayaks. Starting every day on the deck overlooking the bay with a cup of tea was true R&R. We will definitely stay here again!!!

Great house and location, but not clean

House was spacious and very well appointed. It looks just like the photos with plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The view of the marsh and proximity to the water is the real gem. The owner was very quick to communicate. The owner included a 8-page document with all the details and instructions for the house which was very helpful. However, several areas of the house were not clean upon arrival, which was likely an anomaly based past reviews. Also, the listing advertised a hot tub which did not exist. While the owner replied to my messages and photos about the missing amenity and lack of cleanliness, he did not attempt to rectify the issue nor even apologize. It's frustrating that the house was not as advertised, and that I had to pay a cleaning fee for a rental that was not clean.

Short Getaway

We were looking for a place to stay that was not along a highway or in a noisy area when we found this home. It was tucked far enough away from the highway that we couldn't easily hear all the motorcycles crossing over the bridge, and in the morning had a secluded view looking south over the bay where we could see the sun rise, and birds flying about. From the deck we couldn't see neighbors and they couldn't see us. We didn't use anything inside the home other than the Kurig machine and the kitchen sink, and had our own mugs. The decor was cozy and nice, and to be honest when we first pulled in we weren't sure what we had rented, but once we stepped inside the amount of space was amazing. With every great review there is always something that maybe you wished was a little different but not a negative. The master bedroom had a king size bed which was great, but I will say the space between the bed and the wall on the right side of the bed was a little close. We also noticed that TV streaming in the bedroom, as well as wifi strength on that end of the house wasn't the best, but you're in the bedrooms to sleep, right?? Would we consider this home again? Very definitely. It was clean, secluded, great view, easy access, gated community, quiet, and a great place to get away. Would recommend to Friends and Family as well. Owner was great with communications. Provided a nice fact sheet with door/gate codes, some local links and everything we needed to arrive and depart.

Great vacation house! It was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location is central, making it easy to get to both Rehoboth and Bethany and a perfect jumping-off point for exploring the area, such as a beach across the highway that is minutes from the property. We liked being in a gated community since it felt safe and quiet, and the recreation room was a huge hit with my son. The host was responsive and made everything simple, and we’d definitely stay again.
