Our office is right here in the Powderhorn area with on-site maintenance, housekeeping, and reservation staff ready to help. Whatever works best for you, we’re here to make your stay as smooth and stress-free as possible. Nestled in the heart of the Upper Peninsula, the Powderhorn area is a true four-season destination. The neighborhood also offers great local spots to enjoy—grab a hearty meal at Iron Nugget, sip a coffee at Copper Cup, try out a beer at old Iron Brewery or try a local favorite at Pit Stop, Uptown Café, or Club 28\. You’ll also find shopping, live music, and seasonal festivals nearby that bring the community to life. We have stayed there many times and it feels like home.. one thing I might mention is the little ants 🐜 that hang out in the kitchen. Dishwasher, and countertop.. The large tv was awesome for us to watch the soccer play off. Thank you for keeping it up so nicely. This is the second time we stayed there. But as much as we love it, we have been disappointed that we were not able to ski in ski out either year. So sadly. Last year it was not very clean so we brought cleaning supplies this year . Also, there was no dishwasher soap . There were 16 of us altogether, ages ranging from 3 to 60+. It was wonderful that each bedroom had it’s own bathroom, and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and play, read, or play games. The only problem we had was that the key access was listed at noon, and we mistakenly thought that was the time we could access the cabin. This caused a little mixup with the cleaning person, which we regretted. Other than that, everything was lovely...in good repair and very clean. This is the perfect setup for our 18th annual fall family trip. There is a bed for everyone and each family has their own bathroom. The kitchen is great for our family to cook and enjoy delicious meals with enough seating for the entire group. The living area has plenty of seating and the children have room for playing games. This year the weather was perfect for the kids to have fun running around outside. We love this property however it is beginning to show signs of heavy use. Some of the drains were running very slow, there are water spots on the kitchen ceiling, the cupboard doors are getting a little loose, the carpet is stained but this really didn’t impact our fun. The rooms were nice. Facilities were good. However, the biggest drawback was that this house did not have air conditioning. It was so hot in the middle of the summer and mot of the occupants of the upper floor bedrooms could not sleep even after opening the windows. It looked like this house was not equipped with air conditioning at all. The front door opening was also a problem. It did not open even after we entered the security code. Then we had to call the property maintenance person and he informed us to rotate the lock handle upwards and then it opened. Please mention it to the next guests. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed five wonderful fall days in Michigan’s UP. This was our 15th annual family fall vacation and Matterhorn was a perfect fit for our entire group of sixteen. The kitchen is large and well stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals. The dining table seats twelve and there is additional seating at the counter which was great for meals, crafts and games. There is plenty of space for eight children and eight adults to relax, play and visit.
