We stayed at Cowrie guest House for 3 nights. Ruth and Ian were very welcoming. Our room was lovely and very comfortable, we had everything we needed. The house itself is beautiful and very nicely decorated. Breakfast was amazing! As well as the usual cooked breakfast there was a special to choose from every day as an alternative. I had scrambled eggs on a croissant one day and french toast with bacon and blueberries on other days. All delicious! Ian and Ruth are terrific hosts. They're incredibly friendly and accomodating people. I left early for a hike one morning and they prepared a take away breakfast for me separate from what they normally prepared for breakfast. The house is beautiful, clean, and cozy. It is also easily accessible to the train station and walkable to the rest of Berwick. Ruth also has a business crafting beautiful sea glass jewelry--definitely worth a look.
