The only downside is that the hotel has changed ownership over the years and unfortunately each time management decided just to use what was there before, hence the hotel really needs a makeover now as it is becoming very dated. Also if you like a quiet room, it'll be better not to be poolside, as the hotel has many functions which are based around the pool and it can be very noisy with music until late at night in the week. The airport pick-up was great- unfortunately it was a 2.5 hour drive to the hotel due to crazy Banagalore traffic, but the driver was very nice, car was comfortable with water and snacks offered, and had wifi. Oterra seems to be an older hotel- room was comfortable but not impressive and sort of dark overall. No French press was offered in the rooms (unlike the other 5-star hotels I stayed in India during this business trip), and minibar was extremely expensive as compared to 5-star hotels in Delhi and Pune. Breakfast buffet had a great variety and was in a beautiful space. Italian restaurant was great- the gnocchi was some of the best I’ve ever had! (Which surprised me). But food/drink prices are very high here. Service overall was great. Only problem is about the area; Electronic City is not near to city and anything touristic. There is nothing to do in walking distance. You have to take a cab or drive to go see something. Considering the very bad traffic in Bangalore it does not worth to try :). Good thing that the hotel has everything so you do not get bored.
