Our relatives live an hour away from the airport. We had booked the room for whole night as we wanted to reach our relatives during daytime out of safety concerns. It was a confirmed reservation with credit card on file. The hotel considered us a ‘no show’ and rented the room. No rooms were available. So we were left stranded in the middle of the night. No other hotels were available in the area. Ultimately we ended up taking a taxi from the hotel to our relative’s house. The hotel is in a poor residential area. There is no soundproofing and noise carries. We stayed for 2 nights and it was fine if you want to be near the airport although there is nothing much around the area. It’s quite rural. Be aware the taxis come out of the back of the airport and if I was on my own I would have been quite scared as it is very narrow country roads. The hotel booked us a taxi to take us back to the airport. We arranged it for 2.30am. It was a complete nightmare journey. The driver was so tired we nearly went off the road quite a few times. In the end we had to shout at him.
