Our Mountain View Retreat sits in an idyllic setting on a serene and peaceful oxbow bend of the Deschutes River near the Sunriver resort, providing large or multiple families with a beautiful place to get away from it all and be with friends and family. At the same time, we are just a few minutes away from Sunriver, where all of the supplies you may need are easily available.

The Mountain View Retreat consists of our 7 Bedroom luxury lodge, sleeping up to 18, plus our bunk house by the river, sleeping up to 6 (BYO bedding/sleeping bags).

Visit our luxurious and spacious 5-star riverfront lodge plus rustic bunk house on the water near Sunriver, situated on an idyllic bend of the Deschutes River! The Mountain View Retreat is a beautifully rustic, conveniently modern, large 3600 square foot LODGE on a very private acre on the Deschutes River just 5 miles (10 mins) south of world-famous Sunriver Resort, 25 mins from Bend, and 30 mins from Mount Bachelor snow park. If you are attracted to the spectacular Cascade Mountain region of central Oregon, this is the perfect place to take advantage of all it has to offer. The six bedroom, four bath house sleeps up to 18 and is situated right on the river, overlooking a wildlife-rich peninsula created by a large bend in the Deschutes River. Deer, elk, otter, foxes, chipmunks, eagles, ducks and geese, and many other species of birds are in regular view. Downriver a view of Mount Bachelor, with its world-class ski resort, opens up, along with views of other nearby mountains.

If you have a large group, or would just like extra space to hang out inside down by the river, you might like to add our BUNK HOUSE. The Bunk House is located on the riverside of the main house, near the dock, and can sleep up to six. This newly constructed -- and now insulated! -- 12' by 16' cabin has a covered porch and is a great place to hang out, just a few feet from the river, or to "camp out" in comfort most of the year. The Bunk House has two bunk beds, each with a double futon below and a single bed above. It also has a table and chairs, lighting and heat, but no water. LINENS are NOT PROVIDED for the bunk house though, so bring your sleeping bags or bedding if you want to camp out. (Linens are provided for all the regular beds in the house of course.)

There is no charge to add the Bunk House for groups of 16 or less. For larger groups, access is covered by the $25 per night per extra guest fee, up to a maximum of 24.

We are close enough to Sunriver to enjoy its amenities -- many of which are accessible for full- and half-day rates -- yet just far enough away from all the hustle and bustle that comes with resort living.

The main floor of the Mountain View Retreat has over 1200 square feet of connected living area with a living room, dining room with seating for 12 or more, and country kitchen with both an eating and sitting area, close enough to the dining area that everyone can eat together! The dining area opens out onto a log deck that runs the length of the house, overlooking the river, with lounge chairs and two picnic tables. Two of the four upstairs/main level bedrooms open into their own bath. All upstairs rooms except one have river views. Ten can sleep comfortably on this level, plus one or two infants in our collapsible crib and Pack & Play. Bring a sleeping bag and you can sleep one more on the couch in the Master bedroom.

Downstairs are two additional bedrooms, a bathroom, and a game room with a pool table and log bunk beds. All rooms have river views. Six can sleep comfortably down here. The hot tub, dock, and deck overhanging the river can all be accessed from the upper deck, or through the game room.

Please NOTE: our on-site caretaker lives in a small cottage adjacent to the Main Lodge. You are unlikely to see or hear them during your stay unless there is an emergency or issue that needs dealing with.
