Summary: This beautiful condo only steps away from the Deschutes River and downtown has everything you could ever want in a vacation rental. This condo comes with a full size kitchen, a master bedroom and bathroom, and a living space. The Space: If you're looking to visit downtown Bend, let this unit be your home base. Unit 108/109, nicknamed "Boaty and Soul", is located at the Pioneer Park Condos just on the edge of downtown. You're 8 minutes by foot into the heart of the city. The condo is divided into two spaces, hence the two unit numbers. In one area you've got a living room with a full kitchen, fireplace, air conditioning, bathroom, and patio. The second space is the master bedroom, with a queen bed, a second bathroom and another patio, which we find that guest's often really appreciate. You're located on the ground level, so no stairs are required to get to your front door. The complex gets its name because it is adjacent to Pioneer Park, one of several public parks in the area that align with the river; and we like call this unit "Boaty and Soul" because you're also a 2 minute walk from the edge of the Deschutes River. There's a convenient trail along the river, and if you appreciate a cool water feature, you'll be happy to check out the irrigation dam with a fish ladder. The Pioneer Park Condos were built in the 1970s, originally to be Phase 2 of what people back then called a "condotel." However, it split off from the other development and became an independent entity. It has the personal touches of the individual owners of the property, who live in Lake Tahoe and have personally decorated and furnished the unit. They visit the condo regularly and take very good care of it, so you'll see that it feels more like home than it does an investment property. You also have two separate patio areas connected to the condo, and the owners provide a grill for you to barbecue your steaks or tofu burgers to your heart's delight! With a place like this, what more could you ask for during your time around Central Oregon? Guest Access: The studio comes with a unique code which will get you entry into your unit. This is a 1st floor unit, there are 0 steps required to access the unit. The Neighborhood: 108/109 Boaty and Soul Getting Around: You are on the edge of downtown Bend, so once you get here you don't necessarily need to use your car. Everything you need is in walking distance. Other Things to Note: This is a studio in a shared complex, and it's worth noting that from time to time, you might hear everyday sounds coming from neighboring units and common areas within the facility. The studio comes with a limited supply of complimentary coffee, sugar, and creamer. Interaction with Guests: Pioneer Park Rentals Rentals manages more than 15 privately owned riverfront condos. We have a rental office on the property that is open no less than 8 hours a day. With 2 full bathrooms and 1 bedroom. Somehow we, my friend and I got the thought it was a bedroom and sleeper sofa. We were wrong about it, we even called the office thinking we were in the wrong room or they replaced the sofa but they assured us it was a regular sofa. My friend and I were used to sleeping alone so we took turns sleeping on the sofa. It would have been nice if there had been an extra blanket of extra set of sheets. There was nothing extra in this place, only 3 coffee filters and 1 packet of coffee. Even after talking with the office there was no offer of extra blanket of sheets. Stayed 1 night in Dec 2024 Verified ### 10/10 Excellent #### Tai C. 9 Dec 2022 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Great location, good size 1 bdrm rental, all necessities This is a great location about 10 minutes walk to the north end of downtown Bend. It's a good size 1 bdrm with 2 full baths, wood floors, decent queen bed which was on the firmer side but I slept well. The apt has everything you need in terms of cooking utensils, pots and pans, making cooking fairly convenient. Dishwasher works well. Things to keep in mind when you're staying there: In the winter, the entire place is heated by the gas fireplace in the living room, so you need to keep the door btw the living room and bedroom open at night if you want heat in the bedrm. There are two AC wall units, one in the living room and one in the bedrom, though I did not use them since it was December. Although you are on the first floor, there is good privacy and there is not a lot of noise. However, you can easily hear the footsteps of the upstairs resident, especially in the mornngs and at night, and I heard this every day I was there. This may bother some, but I was OK with it. If you can live with this and you can sleep through this, I think this would be an ideal rental. ##### Tai C.
