It is located just one block back from iconic Drake Park along the Deschutes River, and one block from popular Galveston Avenue with its eclectic shops and restaurants. Just a half block away is The Lot food truck court with amazing outdoor seating open year round and local beer on tap. It is a quintessential historic Bend cottage with unbelievable charm. This home features: ● One private bedroom with California King bed ● One full bathroom with original clawfoot tub and shower, blow dryer ● Family room with flat screen Smart TV ● Desk / workspace in the living room/ sitting room ● Ductless AC/heating in the main living area, plus ceiling fans throughout ● Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking at home ● Coffee bar with whole bean coffee, grinder, sugar, non-dairy creamer, tea ● Free high speed wireless internet ● Washer and dryer ● Private hot tub ● Fully fenced backyard with patio and gazebo ● Outdoor propane BBQ (seasonal, Memorial Day - Labor Day) ● Two cruiser bikes (seasonal, Memorial Day - Labor Day) The Drake West Bungalow was built in 1915 as one of the original homes for the lumber mill workers that populated the area during that time. It has been totally restored and remodeled with 'green' efficiency building in mind, but the house still perfectly reflects the classic charm of its era. This one bedroom bungalow is perfect for those wishing to be within a beautiful stroll to the park, river, downtown Bend, and the popular west side where you can enjoy everything from quaint bakeries to superb restaurants, unique galleries to seasonal festivals, bike and recreation equipment rental shops, and not to mention some of the greatest microbreweries in the country-- all right outside the front door. The Drake West Bungalow is the perfect place to have all of Bend right at your fingertips. This is a private, standalone house exclusively for guest use. The house, grounds, hot tub, and parking area are unshared. We have complete contactless check-in for the convenience and safety of our guests. All towels, linens and bedding are included. We also leave guests a small amount of starter supplies including: toilet paper, paper towels, dish and laundry soaps, hand soaps, bath soap, shampoo, and coffee bar items mentioned above. We also provide blow dryers, iron and ironing board. Please plan accordingly to bring anything else you may wish to have with you on your trip. Note: Guests who book this home will be required to sign an auxiliary rental packet with specific rules and information included, such as neighborhood quiet hours, check in and out time restrictions, and non-smoking policies. If you are traveling with a pet, please select "dog" at checkout. Check-in was super easy. Erin was incredibly responsive. The house is in a great neighborhood -- walkable to great food, groceries, coffee, parks, and 1 block from the river. The house had everything we needed, was well-appointed, bed was super comfy and the sheets were soft. My only recommendation would be to add a couple ottomans to the chairs in the main sitting room, so when you are reading you can put your feet up. We were visiting Bend for a concert and needed to bring our two dogs with us. The house is well-appointed and has a fenced yard. It’s in easy walking distance—one mile or less—from many parks, the amphitheater, and downtown. The house was very clean and comfortable and had wonderful outdoor spaces. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Lots of great restaurants and food carts in walking distance. Easy check-in and checkout process. ##### Erin L. It was perfect for us, very clean and comfortable and everything that we needed for our trip. It is walkable to all the main attractions in the town of Bend. The yard is great for pets and relaxing outdoors. The furnishings are comfortable but nothing fancy. At the time of our visit the pull cords for the fans was broken and could not be turned off. The toilet handle is in need of some help too. Otherwise this place is perfect. ##### Yvonne R. House was well appointed, clean when we arrived. It is an older home with character, tub and shower are a bit funky, but just fine. Read through the check out instructions, you have to wash your towels and have them dried or drying prior to your departure, glad we read through that in advance. ##### Emily H. Lots of space to spread out and a lovely patio. This is the second time we've stayed in the house. Unfortunately, this time the kitchen was not clean. Dishes had been put away dirty (soap still in the dishwasher holder so it had just not been run) , the shelves covered in a deep layer of dust and "rings" on the counter. The prior dog had clearly been up on the outdoor furniture as it was covered in dog fur. ##### Brenda H. The Bungalow was well appointed (only minor complaint was that there was only 1 decent wine glass, but since we're lovebirds we shared!) and very thoughtfully re-finished. Hot tub was a key decision maker for choosing this home, and it did not disappoint! Would be nice to have window coverings in the two side-yard facing windows, but another minor point.
