A well run old style hotel.

Spa area is a dream!

We came in from a long flight and journey; approximately two days,anrrived ant 10.40 pm, only to be greeted with, we have no reservation for you. Showed the booking, then to be told there are no more rooms, but you can walk two minutes to another partner hotel. Said to the clerk, that we just paid a taxi to arrive here, coupled with the fact that it was raining and it was our first time in Germany. He made a call and said a taxi would come soon, just wait outside to flag the taxi. Taxi arrives, but refuses to take all three of us, with our three pieces of luggage. Said one of you would have to walk; with luggage;only two minutes away and proceeded to give directions. No choice at this stage but comply as all you want to do at this stage is get to your destination. Upon arrival at the other hotel, issue again with the taxi driver about payment, which had to be settled by the hotel. Not a very warm welcome to Germany. Must say though that the clerk at the partner hotel was satisfactory. Gave the basic information about room number and breakfast. NOT ONCE DID ANY MEMBER OF HOTEL STAFF OFFER ANY TYPE OF APOLOGY Actually don’t see why I have to pay for this type of service.

We stayed for one night on our way to Copenhagen. The property is well managed, elevator is a bit small but working as it's supposed to be, room and bathroom are clean. Mattres is in a good condition. Our room was facing the opposite of the Hbf and it was nice and quiet in the evening.

It is extremely convenient to the central train station, which is why I chose it. But this means noise of all kinds, non-stop. I was also told by my friend not to go in the direction away from the train station when coming out of the hotel because there is a lot of crime nearby. I didn’t see city police or hotel security in the vicinity at all, and did not go out at night.

I had booked this hotel because it was close to the train station - I came in by train and was due to leave by train the next morning. I was a little apprehensive after reading all of the negative reviews, but I was pleased overall with my stay here. The hotel offers the basic amenities for a comfortable night's stay: comfortable bed, cleaning bedding, nice pillow, blackout curtains, a television (I did not turn mine on so I cannot comment on the channels), a hot shower, a modern toilet, bath and hand towels, hand soap and body gel dispensers, a floor mat, hand towel and bath towel, luggage storage including a large cabinet with hangers and shelving, a writing desk and chair, a bedside table with a lamp, sufficient lighting in the room, an electronic safe, tourist maps and information in the hallway, and, finally, friendly and helpful staff. I was allowed early check-in. There is a medium-sized supermarket 50 metres from the hotel called Penny, which was very handy. It's a 5 minute walk to the train station. The hotel offers breakfast for a few, but I did not utilize the service. The surrounding area is a bit seedy (many homeless and presumed drug addicts), however I was never bothered by anyone during my stay. Overall, a good and very budget friendly stay here!
