About this property
2 bdrm, Mt Baker, San Juans, WWU, Sea to Ski race, Canada, Golf, Refineries
Rented by owner, no added on agent fees. Recently updated home in Whatcom County, Washington with 2 bedrooms (queen beds), 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, big screen tv, washer & dryer. Furnished with bedding, towels, cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans, coffee pot, blender, toaster, hair dryer, shampoos, soaps, laundry supplies, etc. Large deck including propane BBQ grill, deck chairs, and table with 4 chairs overlooking the golf course and sweeping views of Mt. Baker and the San Juan Islands.
We provide the essentials for your entire stay - paper towels, laundry supplies, dish soap, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. You should not have to go to a store for those types of items.
Located for easy access: Silver Reef Casino for entertainment, getting pampered at the spa, and dining at their many restaurants, including their award winning restaurant The Steakhouse (2 miles); Bellingham Airport (11 miles); Western Washington University (20 mins.); Mt. Baker for world class skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and more (1.25 hours); San Juan Islands for fishing, crabbing, and exploring (20 min. trip from Sandy Point Marina where you can launch your boat); and Canada (25 mins. north on I-5 corridor to the border). Also located near the refineries for short-term housing while working turnarounds.
Good location for the annual Sea to Ski race from Mt Baker to Bellingham Bay, whether participating or observing.
Close to the ferry to Lummi Island where the Willows restaurant is located, run by award winning chef, Blaine Wetzel.
The golf course is a 9 hole course open to the public with a $10 fee and access is steps away from the house. Small playground near the clubhouse. Ideal place for out-of-town guests if you do not have room for them. Save money over a hotel as you can do your own cooking.
Bring your boat and launch at the Marina minutes away and come home to relax in the evenings instead of trying to find dock space or a buoy in the busy summer months. Many good walking beaches nearby.
Eagle watching: the road from the house to the casino follows the Red River, you can often spot bald eagles in the trees next to the road. Sometimes the eagles harass the ducks that are on the golf course in front of the house. Makes for a front row seat to see bald eagles in their natural habitat.
If the timing is right, and we are not working or out of town, we would be happy to stock the house before your arrival, if you provide a grocery, beer, wine or alcohol list.

We enjoyed our stay. Lovely views from the living room and kitchen, house very clean throughout.
Host was very flexible in check out and check in. Would return if in the area.
Our three night stay was thoroughly enjoyable. We appreciated the generous welcome baskets both for ourselves and our pups, and found the kitchen well stocked, immaculately clean, and fun to use. We enjoyed picnics and cafés in scenic local county parks, Birch Bay, Semiahmoo, and Bellingham. The large back deck was a great spot for relaxing. We'd go back again anytime!
The house was exactly what we wanted. Very clean and well equipped with a deck overlooking the nearby golf course and the bay. The welcome back with wine, crackers and more was a nice surprise. It was a great location, 15-30 minutes from Bellingham and Ferndale with plenty of wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. The hosts sent us all the information we needed and were very responsive to questions. We would definitely recommend.
This is a fantastic property. When we arrived at the house (after dark) we were greeted by a lavish spread of goodies, both in the refrigerator and on the counter (beverages, meat tray, trail mix, chocolates, etc). This is a first for us and was a wonderful surprise from some great hosts. Aside from that welcoming touch, the house was perfect for our needs. There was plenty of room for the three of us to spread out, and our furry companion loved it as well. When we woke up in the morning, we were amazed by the wonderful view of the golf course below, Lummi Bay with the countless birds, and the mountains. Although the view was often hindered by frequent bouts of rain, we lucked out on our last three days and were able to see Mt. Baker unobscured. It was a remarkable sight with a bonus of being able to enjoy it on the spacious deck while basking in mild December sunshine. We got spoiled. Would we stay here again? Absolutely. One of our favorite VRBOs in the PacNW!
My adult son and I needed a comfy place between Seattle and Canada to meet my cousin and his wife for a few days. One requirement was parking for a large camper and truck. Another was a well-stocked kitechen (we like to cook). This home had everything we needed, and more. The large, furnished deck overlooks a quiet golf course with water view beyond, tbe perfect spot to drink coffee in the morning and relax in the evening.
The large kitchen was wonderful for group cooking. The dishwasher was most welcome.
Don't be put off by the run-down homes on the route here: the homes in this rural subdivision are well-maintained. Neighbors are friendly and quiet.
We loved this home so much! The views are amazing day and night! We arena family of 4 on vacation with our fur babies and it was exactly the right size for us to hang out for a few days after driving and staying in hotels, this was exactly what we needed a home away from home! We had a medical emergency with my oldest son! Even though we were far from city life, the local EMT got him to St Joseph in Bellingham where they saved his life after 3 back to back grand Mal seizures! He stopped breathing at the house and at the hospital! Very fortunate to be alive without complications.
We felt like we were at home Thank you very much for a wonderful stay We appreciated the welcome basket very much Next time we are in the area we would like to rent from you again
This home was everything we could have asked for and more! To wake up and see Mt. Baker to your left, the golf course in front of you, and Lummi Island to your right was pretty incredible. Check in was a breeze, the home was well-stocked with everything we needed for our two-week stay and the bonus gift basket was beyond what we have received at other properties.
The house is comfortable, beautiful views, in a quiet neighborhood, the easiest check in and check out requirements and not a bad drive to Mount Baker. If you are looking for a good restaurant Anthony’s is the best and only 20 minutes away.
My wife and I along with our friends loved staying here. We were in town to crab in Birch Bay as well as visit family. This is a very comfortable and clean place, And set up really well. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in the area.
Quaint house in a quiet neighbourhood. It has great views in the back. House has all the essentials for a relaxing getaway. Our family had a good time.
We had a very enjoyable week long visit. The house is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We really enjoyed the view from the deck and the apples fresh from the trees. The location was suitable for most of the activities we desired.
A very nice stay and would highly recommend to others!
We had such a great time! Jakki went above and beyond to make our trip special, and her little touches really made us feel so welcome! 100% recommend & we will be back!
This house is very comfortable and has a wonderful view across a golf course. Mountains and water in distance. It is all on one level and there is only one step to get to covered porch. Kitchen was well equipped. A full sized washer and drier added convenience. Beds were comfortable and there were lots of extra linens. We had a great 4 nights as family after a Seattle wedding
We really enjoyed the views of the golf course and bay. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed was very comfortable. The living room and dining room furniture are past their prime. Jakki and Alan were easy to reach and very accommodating.
Outstanding view from deck, kitchen and living room. Spacious bedrooms and comfy bed. Well stocked kitchen and fridge. Check-in was contactless and super easy. Host was responsive. 1pm checkout is a great bonus.
Beautiful mornings on deck drinking coffee! Host thought of everything ... it’s a bit out of town but they had snacks galore! Follow the I5 directions for easier traveling ! We will definitely be back 5stars for sure !
I was so impressed with all the little extras like spices, baking ingredients, water, etc etc. And all kinds of extras in the bathroom too. The location was ideal....lots of state parks in the area. Easy to get to Vancouver too. The sunset view is spectacular. We loved everything!
We were up here for a wedding in Bellingham. This cute little place was just close enough AND just far enough away from family. The views are gorgeous! The place was very clean. The property managers were great at communication. The place was exactly as described. We may come back, just to sit on the deck and chill. Slainte!
