In winter, enjoy skiing or even a bit of night sledding right outside the back porch. In summer, explore golf, boating, and peaceful morning walks through Shanty Creek’s scenic neighborhood. Inside, the chalet feels homey and comfortable, with two living areas, a wood-burning fireplace, and plenty of cozy spots to gather, play games, or watch a movie. The well-stocked, cozy kitchen has everything from crockpots to blenders, making family meals a breeze. Step onto the large deck for your morning coffee or evening stargazing by the fire pit. The place was in a great location not too far from Bellaire and perfect for our friends getaway weekend. The concerns we had are as follows: one of the rooms smelled like dog, a window was left open so it got really cold one night and we didn’t know why, the fridge had sticky spills from who knows how long, and we found old moldy food in the oven. It was pretty expensive for the lack of cleanliness. But cozy nonetheless! We probably wouldn’t stay here again but it was a great option for last-minute booking this weekend. ##### Heidi K. The area has so much to offer in the summertime! We played a couple rounds of golf at Shanty Creek. Then we rented a boat on torch lake and had an awesome day on the sand bar. The house was perfect for our group. One thing to note, the grill was not working our first night, however the host replaced it with a brand new top-of-the-line weber the following morning! The place is set up perfectly to host a big family not group like ours. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the big deck and fire pit. The firewood was very appreciated! We definitely made use of the propane grill as well. Despite having no AC, with the cool summer nights in northern Michigan we didn't miss it.
