The cabin was an experience for us. It was cozy and comfortable. Our family had a good time and we also got to see the white tail deer. Over all we had a good time
This property was clean, beautiful and comfortable. Well appointed and good communication with Tammy who manages the property.
Would highly recommend to others and hope to be back in the future!
We have had the pleasure of staying at the West Virginian on multiple occasions, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we first set foot on the property, our children have been adamant about returning year after year. The cabin provides an ideal winter retreat - it is conveniently located near the slopes while still offering a tranquil and serene atmosphere. It has become a beloved tradition for our family, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for years to come.
We stayed in the West Virginian for our family reunion at Pipestem Resort over a long weekend. We bought our dogs and wanted a kitchen and all the cabins in the park were rented out. So glad they were because The West Virginian was much, much better than the park's cabins. Great amenities and within 3 minutes of the park. Will definitely stay here again!
This rental was amazing!! My only suggestion is the cabin needs a new can opener! (Minor problem) None of the four manual can openers were functional. This was our second stay at this rental and it did not disappoint!!!
The cabin is located in an area with other cabins nicely spaced and a big wooded back yard with a fire pit. The fire pit area is not flat enough to put chairs around it but there is a picnic table. We loved the cabin it was very clean and had everything we needed. There are 3 floors. You enter on the middle floor living area. You go upstairs to a large bedroom and smaller room with twin beds. This floor is bright and has a large bathroom. The downstairs living space is kind of like a finished basement with a sliding door going out to the fire pit. It had the smell of a basement until we emptied the dehumidifier and figured out how the thermostat worked and turned on the AC. We had contacted Tammy with some questions and she was nice and helpful. The thermostat in the lower living area controls the middle floor, the top floor has their own thermostat. The wall AC in the living room is not a working unit but they still have the remote there as though it is. I think there should be some kind of a note somewhere giving people instructions on the thermostat and how they need to empty the dehumidifier because if they don’t figure it out it will be smelly. Other than that it is a great downstairs space with a nice queen bedroom with a small window , a living room and a small room with twin beds. My husband and I and my cousin and his wife stayed there, we were on the lower floor. It was a great place to visit with my other cousins who live close by.
Great gathering place to be with old friends from near and far!
Had some issues with a leaky roof but understand there had been recent roof work, tested mightily by Hurricane Ian's rain bands! Tammy was as responsive and helpful as possible given the circumstances. Otherwise we'll appointed and cozy. Recommend for anyone wanting to be in the Pipestem area, especially in conjunction with Black Bear for larger groups.
Fairly well stocked, cozy cabin that made for an easy Thanksgiving destination that was able to accommodate nearby family. A few minor things didn’t work or were missing but overall a very nice cabin and easy process.
The cabin was exactly as advertised. Tons of space, everything was spotless, and very close to everything we wanted to do at Pipestem State Park. The directions for arrival were very helpful, and check-in was a breeze. We loved our stay and plan to go again sometime!
My family stayed here this weekend and had a lovely time. The weather was perfect, the accomodations were great, the activities in the park were numerous. I loved that they had West Virginia Fiesta ware for their table ware. The home was well stocked. A suggestion would be that another tv be put in the upstairs main bedroom. The only tv in bottom floor made it hard because my hubby likes to watch tv in the evening but my son and his little ones were in the bedrooms on the bottom floor and therefore we had to be very careful not to have the tv on very loud, etc. when they went to bed. Also, the directions say turn left on an incorrect road. The directions should say turn left on True Road across from the playground. This was misleading going in initially.
Was looking for a spring get away that was pet friendly. The cottage was spotless and very well equipped. Haven’t been to Pipestem in over 30 years. The park was as lovely as we remembered- and the people even nicer. Was surprised at how quiet the surroundings were. Already planning a trip back, and would love to rent “The West Virginian” again
