"My issue with this hotel is not as much about the actual hotel as the inability for the owner to have any level of compassion. I live out of state and stayed booked a room at this hotel because my brother passed away and this was the closest to my family. While flying into SC, I experienced a medical emergency that included losing consciousness on the first leg of the flight from EWR to IAD. I was taken off the airplane in a wheelchair, transferred to a gurney and taken to a local ER where I stayed overnight for tests to be run and monitoring. I missed my check in which was on the same day. I was discharged later the following day. Before I could even think about contacting the airline, they contacted me to initiate a refund of the remaining leg of my flight. I contacted Expedia (who I scheduled with) to inquire about a rental car refund and hotel refund. The rental car fee was waived but this hotel refused to refund my money. Before I learned this, I rebooked another room with them in good faith, again to be close to family in a difficult time. After rebooking, I learned they would not refund the missed checked in so I promptly rebooked the next four nights with a respectable and clean hotel. All I can say is, greed."

"The lobby inside is about the only thing that was clean. Let's back up and start by saying my original trip for my anniversary was changed, so we chose to rent a room for the weekend and enjoy a hot tub jacuzzi . Entering the room there was torn wallpaper, filth and dirt everywhere. I spent an hour with my own cleaning supplies cleaning the room. Sanitized everything. The bed sheets had stains so I brought my own. The room was much better when I left. The jacuzzi was perfect. The 2nd day did not have water for about 4 hrs. The place. Could have a very nice Hotel if the owner would update the room and clean up the property. Train your employees the right way. I could have those rooms in tip top shape in no time. Maintenance would be fired. Front desk staff are rude. Not much for a breakfast but nice. I personally heard the front desk staff and maid talking about me for asking for more coffee and towels. Disrespectful. Would not waste my money again."

"The fire alarm was removed from the room. The carpeting was so filthy it turned the underside of my socks brown. On check-in, i was charged for the entire stay and presented with a lengthy disclaimer, prefilled with my initials, including a statement that there would be no refunds. Stay somewhere else!!!"

"Even if the hotel is not the Ritz with all bells and whistles, it is highly recommended to keep it clean. The carpet is smelly, needs serious cleanup. Vacuuming should be done thoroughly, sheets should be replaced by newer ones. Everything looks and feels old. Access to the hotel should be advertised by the curb, I missed the entrance and drove on rt20 up to exit 58 to only return and enter the hidden path to it. The only positive thing was the change of rooms I asked about. Having a knee surgery climbing stairs is not pleasant so the lady working at the reception was very nice and switched my room with one situated on first floor. This location needs serious care!"

"Enjoyed my stay. The staff were great. When I arrived to my room I noticed it felt pretty warm. I checked the thermostat and it was set on cool but blowing out hot air. I immediately notified the front desk and the gentleman immediately switched me to another room without hesitation. Definitely will stay again."
