We enjoyed our stay at the Barnhouse. It was well appointed and provided all that we needed for a peaceful retreat...complete with roosters, who would come to our bedroom window and serve our wake-up call.
My stay at Lori’s place was exactly what I needed. Lori was wonderfully prepared for her guests and took the time to have a sincere, gracious conversation with me. I was looking for a quiet space to decompress before a funeral, and this home provided just that. The setting was secluded, peaceful, and spotless—more than enough in every way. I’m truly grateful for the comfort and care I found here.
Love, love, love this place. Stayed twice and looking forward to staying again. Clean, comfortable and quiet with loads of charm and beautiful surroundings. Also, an insane amount of space, convenience and comfort for the price.
Great location. Sweet little barnhouse. Owners nearby so a very safe location. Even supplied us with a dozen fresh eggs. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
After a fun-filled weekend of reuniting with some old college girl friends, I can definitely say that the barnhouse was a perfect place to stay! We enjoyed all the amenities of the house & loved the quietness of the area. The hosts were very responsive and made our stay wonderful!
Absolutely adorable! Hosts were so welcoming and helpful. So many little touches to make our stay perfect. The fire wood in the fire pit, snacks, coffee, charcoal in the grill. Everything was thought of so we could just enjoy.
Lori and David were amazing hosts! They were super friendly and had a really nice place! It was so clean and beautifully decorated. They had a keurig with coffee and even brought fresh eggs from their free range chickens. The porch was an absolutely amazing place to sit and relax whether at night or early morning. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking at this place.
This was one our top VRBO destinations which far exceeded our expectations in every way. The pictures just cannot do it justice and there is no way that you can describe the hospitality of the hosts. If we were not moving to the area soon, we would be repeat guests at this location. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Franklin county or surrounding areas.
Beautiful serene location giving us the peace and relaxation we needed so much. The host thought of everything that made the stay comfortable. There was cream, juice, drinks in fridge and even stacks in the pantry. It was extremely clean and each room's decorative items were inspiring, comforting and uplifting. We would definitely stay there again.
We have family with grandkids in the area and this will be our place to stay any time we visit. The house was perfect for us….quiet, somewhat secluded location. The owners were quick to respond to questions and take great care of this house. If you’re coming to this area, look no further than this place to stay. You can even enjoy a morning cup of coffee watching the chickens wake up and enjoy the visit from the owner’s cat Betsy.
I absolutely enjoyed my time at this property. It was so quiet and peaceful. I live such a busy life taking care of my grandkids and my dad, this property gave me such a peace that I didn’t even know I needed. The property owners also were so accommodating and welcoming as well. THANK YOU
My brother and I went to the Nascar Martinsville track. Its only 15 mins. The host could not be nicer. Great place. Lots of extra amenities. Clean comfortable and quiet. Perfect country setting.
From the moment we arrived at the Barn, we felt at home! The chickens greeted us upon arrival and the area was nice and quiet. Inside the Palmers had so many nice and thoughtful touches - snacks! My favorite place was the front porch - good book, cool breeze and sounds of nature made it the perfect spot to relax. Thank you so much... we will be back!
We visited the area to do some fishing at Philpott Lake and some much needed time away from work. Once arriving to the Barnhouse we were greated by the chickens. That is when we realized our stay was going to be great. Then we entered the Barnhouse and it was perfect. Not much else I can say.. You just have to experience it for yourself. Thank you again for being such great hosts.
This ranked high on our " need to visit again" list. The charming barn / cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The free range chickens were a bonus for us. We enjoyed throwing a little chicken treat their way and watching them eat. We even threw a line into the pond and caught a few blue gills. The five foot black snake that crossed our path around the lake was a shock, but we got over it. We will for sure be back to enjoy this beautiful setting.
We visit family a couple times a year in Martinsville and with 2 kids (6 and 10) we prefer a place with a separated sleeping space in lieu of a hotel room. This space was perfect and well equipped. The place had ample space for us to hang out in the common area or in the loft. We were able to cook as needed and loved roaming the property. We fed the chickens and visited the fishing pond. There were so many extras that we didn't anticipate but were so helpful. From the provided groceries of fresh eggs, milk, butter, creamer, water and drinks, individual cereals and snacks for the kids were a big hit. Then qtips and soap and lotion. They even had an extra behind the door towel rack which is one of my pet peeves that there is never enough places to hang towels. Here there were! We ran into Lori and her husband when we were exploring the property and they were so kind and sweet. The entire family loved the rental and felt comfortable and that it was very clean. We would highly recommend it.
Lovely barn conversion, very nice location and the porch setting was a great recharge from the daily grind of life. The pond was great to walk around and had plenty of bluegill/sun perch to catch and release.
