Nestled in the heart of the magnificent Great Otway National Park this rainforest retreat set on 25 acres of magnificent secluded forest offers you the perfect getaway with lots or little to do. Now with INTERNET & NETFLIX for your enjoyment. Sleeping 6, this fully self-contained retreat house is one hour & 10mins from Geelong, 30 minutes from the Great Ocean Roads popular Apollo Bay beaches and restaurants and 10 minutes from Australia’s largest mountain bike trails at Forrest. Ample walking trails, waterfalls, ferny gullies, towering mountain Ash Trees, the lovely lake Elizabeth, Stevenson’s Falls and the fine dining establishments in Forrest are on or nearby this property. NB: Our property has a rather steep driveway so guests with 4WD or AWD or rear wheel drive will have very easy access both in and out of property. Guests with front wheel drive vehicles only, can park at the top the hill and walk down the steep section to the house. My son said it’s the best holiday he’s ever had. The house was just perfect, had everything we need and an awesome location. We love remote cottages surrounded by forest. It really was "Barradise'. Perfect location for exploring the Otways and surrounding area. We enjoyed the forest walks round the property and the games room kept the kids occupied for hours. We even saw deer and wallabies a couple of times coming out to feed around dusk. Our boys loved staying at this holiday house, not only for the ping pong table and sport channels on Foxtel, but also because of the stunning location, bush-land setting and nearby bike trails. The house was warm even though it was freezing outside with heaters in bedrooms and a wood fire for the living spaces. The linen was also top quality and the place felt very clean. The games room was great for all involved and we played table tennis into the night. And the complementary coffee pods were appreciated by the coffee fiends. Forrest, a mecca for trail anything, was minutes away but when you're on the property you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere without another human to be seen. Gary was a fantastic host before, during and after our stay. The driveway is slippery in the mornings, but my 2WD wagon got up it ok, though I'll bring an AWD next time so I don't dig up their drive. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home in the Otways. The location was outstanding and everything in the house was extremely well maintained and very clean. Wonderfully comfortable beds. The whole family particularly enjoyed the effective wood burner, the table tennis (also in excellent condition) and the walks on the property. Great place in a great area. Only challenge was the steep driveway as our car slid on the coarse gravel when it went up, even on dry days. ##### Sharon B. In addition we thoroughly enjoyed the little rainforest walks, and found Gary, the owner, incredibly friendly and accommodating and any questions were promptly answered. Staying at Barramunga Rainforest Retreat was an amazingly pleasant experience! Not only is it situated in an absolutely sublime location, (right in the midst of the great otway national forest), the house itself is remarkable. There's heaps to do & explore, with there also being a couple of walking paths on the location, (many intense games of table tennis were had also).
