A nice hotel with sports and swimming areas. NOT set in city centre so you don't get the constant night noise of a active young city, but you will need a car or use taxis to get in and out, to far to wa!k.

"Stunning!"
Stayed here for 1 night wit my partner and 16month old son. Hotel staff were very accomdating to us and everything we needed for our son was waiting on arrival. Food was delicious in the bar area and service was 10/10! During the night there were wedding guests that were intoxicated and fighting outside our room! We notified the staff the next day and they couldnt have apologized anymore (even though it wasnt their fault) they gave us complimentary drinks as a good will gesture! We will definately be staying here on our next visit to Galway!

    Pocket Guide: Barna

    Hotels @ Barna

If you’re looking to truly get away from the hustle and bustle of life then you will want to stay in the Irish village of Barna where you can find luxury accommodation in a boutique spa hotel overlooking the bay. Or perhaps you may want to explore a little further down the road from Galway where more traditional, but no less comfortable, hotel rooms are available.

If, however, you’re in town to soak up the a bit more of the famous Irish craic, then you’ll probably want to look for accommodation in Galway City, itself just a few minutes down the road, where everything from high end luxury and business hotels to self-catering apartments, inns, and award-winning hostels are available.

    Dining in Barna

With its award-winning restaurants Barna is the ideal place to stay if you’re a connoisseur of fine wines and foods. What’s more, the boutique hotel in the centre of town boasts its own fabulous restaurant in-house, so you won’t even have to leave the building to enjoy some of Ireland’s finest cuisine.

Having said that however, you really should venture out as Barna has a number of fabulous eateries that should all be sampled.

And the best bit? Well, with Barna being so compact, wherever you do choose to book your hotel you will be within comfortable walking distance of all these great dining venues.

    City Life in Barna

As you might expect for such a small village, Barna itself is something of a quiet retreat. However these days it is effectively a much-treasured suburb of Galway City, Ireland’s third largest city, there are limitless accommodation and hotel options nearby.

You might choose to stay in the environs of the harbour itself, which will put you within walking distance of the seafront, the Eyre Square Shopping Centre and the surrounding city centre with its abundance of shops, pubs clubs and much more. Wherever you stay you will still be just a short distance from Barna itself.

    Nature and Heritage in Barna

Barna is the perfect base for seeing the natural splendour of West Ireland, and Connemara in particular.

Connemara is considered one of the world’s most beautiful places and, with its mountains of deepest green, has often been described as truly magical. Home as well to Kylemore Abbey, one of Ireland most delightful estates, this achingly rugged and frequently boggy landscape, with its rich abundance of glorious fauna has long been a source of inspiration, with Oscar Wilde having once described it as possessing a ‘savage beauty’.

All of this, as well as a plethora of unspoilt villages and pristine beaches are waiting to be discovered once you have settled in to your hotel in Barna.

    Enjoy Barna

Why not let Expedia help you find the perfect of hotel, hostel, bed and breakfast or apartment to ensure you sample the very best of Barna’s phenomenal cuisine, delightful coastline and mountain scenery, as well as the thriving city attractions of neighbouring Galway City?
