It felt like our home away from home. The house is set back from the main road surrounded by many tall trees. You don't hear any traffic noise, only the sounds of birds singing. The property is quite large with a massive fire pit that we enjoyed multiple times during our stay. The location was perfect for our family. Great lobster dinner options were minutes away along with amazing barbecue at Atlantic Brewery Mainly Meats. We will definitely rebook with Kathy the next time we visit Maine. ##### Don B. One could not ask for a better location! The drive was close to the east and west side of Mount Desert Island. The house was very clean and so cozy! Since we had teenagers, the kids were extra happy that they had their own beds. The kitchen was well equipped, had all the necessities plus some (we were impressed with the spice rack). There was plenty of space for everyone. We loved the grill and the deck. The check in/ check out process was seamless, owner very responsive and attentive! The house was very clean and well-organized except for the treadmill in the primary bedroom. It was in the way. Kitchen was well equipped. There were no markings on the shower (no arrows or print) so was initially difficult to manage, but we caught on. The house is in the woods, a good distance from Bar Harbor.
