Baoji Zhouyuan Ruins

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. There's a cat cafe and beds are super comfortable. 2 gaming desks and air purifier. Bath tub and spa are a bonus! Receptionists are friendly and helpful. Super spacious and clean room. I'll definitely stay here again when I come to xian again. Convenience stores next door.

We had a very nice check in experience, from a warm welcome and a welcome drink. We also got an unexpected upgrade which was a nice surprise. The butler/concierge team were excellent and very helpful throughout our stay. At breakfast the next morning things took a bit of a turn. The staff were not friendly and service was poor and nothing was explained to us about how breakfast works. For a hotel that prides itself on luxury and its French heritage, the quality of the pastries on offer was very poor. We had an early train to catch the next morning which meant we would not be able to have breakfast in the restaurant. We enquired about the possibility of a room service breakfast and were told we would have to pay the full price for such (rather than simply a tray or service charge which I had expected), despite having already paid for breakfast in the rate we booked. They said they could provide a breakfast box but could not offer any specifics or any hot items including a slice of bacon. We were told bread, pastries and fruit would be provided. We decided to settle on this and the next morning we literally got a bag of fruit with nothing else. This was a very poor experience from a 5 star supposedly luxury property.
