We stayed here with our family for thanksgiving. Awesome house for all ages. Great fireplace that warms up the whole house, game basement for the kids and perfect hot tub for all ages on the deck! Great family vacation home. Super quick rides to blowing rock and Boone.
My husband, my children and I stayed in this wonderful cabin to escape to nature. Mission accomplished. We spent a few wonderful days, filled with peace and connection. The cabin is spacious and everything was very clean. The beds are very comfortable, the bedrooms are spacious, and the kitchen is large and inviting, with a large dining table plus kitchen island. There are two living rooms, TVs in both living rooms and the bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, so no one had to fight over bathroom breaks. The back porch overlooking the mountains was especially majestic. Two things my three teenage children really enjoyed were that the cabin has a pool table, which my children really enjoyed, along with a hot tub in the back porch. The cabin is spectacular. I would give it 10 stars if I could. The owners are very sweet, and generally attentive—wonderful and caring people. The property manager is also very kind. This is the perfect cabin for visiting Grandfather Mountain and all the surrounding areas. 100% recommended. Please go and visit there. You will love the area, the location and this beautiful cabin.

Cute cabin!
We stayed here for ASU family weekend. I was concerned about the reviews but the cabin was clean for us. It's very remote but we liked the quietness. The outdoor fireplace and hot tub were the best features. We did not need to cook but if you are planning to make meals,I would suggest bringing what you need as the kitchenware was sparse. The check in process was challenging and our house was delayed a few hours due to slow turnover but we made the best of that situation. Also, the heat did not work all weekend as other reviewers have said. The PM sent someone out right after we checked in Friday night but could not fix it and did not come back to address it all weekend. We spent very little time in the cabin so this was not a huge deal but it should be addressed for future guests.
Much needed get away, couldn't have gone better. House was excellent, plenty of elbow room with a view of the mountains from the hot tub on the back deck!

Very nice house - but only 4 spoons! Also, not enough kitchen ware for 6 adults and 1 child.
House was nice and clean! There could have been more towels and wash clothes especially while renting for 9 people. But overall is was a wonderful home and vacation.
House was nice but could use a little updating - electrical outlets falling out, shower mold and loose pan, and a few other repairs are needed. Neighborhood is very nice and layout of house is great. Not ideal for dogs as there is very little grassy area, but you can make it work by walking the neighborhood with them.
Great location near Boone and Banner Elk. Cabin was great with rustic feels along with all amenities expected. Kids loved the downstairs all to themselves with a pool table. Great view from back deck.
Very nice and clean. Much larger than it appears online.

Reviewer Comments:
The home is a charming design...but it very much needs some TLC. The storm door opens the opposite side from the main door, and that just about sums it up. The carpeted areas are stained and worn. The furniture is worn. The pool table is warped, and the cue ball was missing. Many of the overhead lights didn’t work. The vanity tops were loose. The outdoor furniture is random with cushions that don’t fit. And it just generally needs a deep clean.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The property is 3 levels, which is nice to spread out. But depending on your group, it can also mean a lot of up and down stairs! We appreciated the different spaces to hang out and not feel on top of each other. The hot tub was great! Check-in was super smooth. The only negative is that there need to be more kitchen supplies. For example, an oven mitt. Also, it was listed that shampoo and conditioner would be provided, but they were not. We loved the location -- close to things nearby like Grandfather Winery, the trout farm, Otter Falls, etc.
Very nice place.
The drive up is very steep, so an all wheel drive is a must!
The only suggestion I have is to add some dishware/silverware/kitchen stuff.
Otherwise, really a nice place.

Almost nonexistent exterior lighting made it incredibly difficult to find the house at night. The storm door was broken and slammed against the wood pile when it was open. The keypad did not work. Dozens of switches in the home did nothing, making it very difficult to arrive at night in the dark. Bedrooms had window ac units installed in February letting cold are flow easily inside, had to place extra blankets and towels around to stop unimpeded cold air. One bed was broken, with pieces piled into a closet along with packaging trash. The bunk beds are not secure and wobbled severely. The hot tub never got above 90 degrees all weekend. I understand it was cold outside, but if it can't keep up, don't advertise it. The cabins "sleeps 10" on bunk beds and a trundle, but has 4 mugs and 5 spoons. Overall, a lack of care for the property and neglect.
Great location, between Linville Falls and Blowing Rock. Cabin needs a deep cleaning for dust but very nice overall. Management Company very quick to respond with questions or problems.
All systems worked. Glassware and cups need an upgrade. No wine glasses deserving a nice wine…for only 2 guests. Don’t know what we would do for these items if there were 6 guests.
My fiancé, my father, and I greatly enjoyed our stay here over Memorial Day weekend. Neighborhood/locations is quiet; I enjoyed sitting on the porch and reading in the outdoor rocking chairs. We used the kitchen for cooking and it was well equipped! Hot tub was relaxing plus as well, as it was unusually cold during our stay.
The BED and pillows though were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on at a Vrbo/etc. Getting a good sleep was not an issue.
My father is an avid pool player and enjoyed using the one in the lower section to practice.
Only negative was a slight snaffoo at check in with the correct key code but Host was super quick to respond.
I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again.
House wasn’t clean, extremely dusty, a/c in living room didn’t work and mouse/rat in bathroom. Bee infestation on side porch and bees in house. Left next morning after waiting all day and night Friday on management company to come speak with us and handle house issues. We only spent the night because it was dark and to late for us to leave Friday night. The owner needs to be aware of the condition this house is in and I requested to speak with him as well.
Great location, and beautiful property, but it could really use some attention. Burnt out bulbs all over, leaking upstairs shower, kitchen window wouldn't close and lock properly, cobwebs everywhere...inside and out. Kitchen utensils lacking. Just so ithers are aware, No central a/c, 1 window/wall unit on each floor, not in all bedrooms.
Hopefully the owner will lean on the property manager to make sure cleaned properly by check-in of 4pm. We had to wait for cleaning person to move out of drive so we could park at 6pm, he left without finishing .
Check in was fine. Cobwebs in the cabin. Had to find the dish cloth. Contacted host because there was no propane for the grill. Was told to get it and they would reimburse me. Who wants to spend time on vacation making sure you have want you need when it should have been there. Hot tub had too much chemicals in it and would not heat. No attention to detail. Unfortunately, Helene came and knocked out the power. The cabin had major water coming in the fireplace and windows. I did what I could so they would not suffer much damage. I put out towels and pans to catch the water. After the power went out we could not leave and we had no way to cook. No propane and fireplace wet. We asked for some type of refund and was told no. We were told we should have reported the no shampoo, conditioner, wash cloth and cobwebs when we checked in and they would have sent someone; however, would not send anyone for propane. Go figure. We have used VRBO since 2013 and this host was not much of a host. Out for the money and no concern for the guest.
