Cute Cabin in Valle Crucis

Mam's Refuge is a cute cabin that was nicely appointed and comfortable for our 4 day get away. It was a great location ..just around the corner from Mast General Store but not too far to go to Blowing Rock where our favorite restaurants are. The porch is perfect for morning coffee and has a water feature which provides the great sound of cascading water.

Best cabins in North Carolina in the mountains and river close by.

Very nice the mountains around and the cabin is very well equipped with all that you need. Beautiful surrounding and nature. My kids enjoyed feeding the goats. The city is so beautiful and many restaurants choices. Definitely, I would love to visit again!!! Thank you for the excellent and cozy cabin!!!

Wonderful Mountain Getaway!

We live about 2hours away and this property was a spur of the moment mountain retreat. We traveled with our small children and dog. The property was a perfect location in between Boone and Banner Elk. We did a morning tubing at Sugar Mountain. We enjoyed a bunch of restaurants in the area. The property borders a goat farm! The goat treats provided in the cabin were perfect for our kids and adults! The beds were so comfortable as well. Looking forward to renting this place again and possibly the neighboring cabins!

An enclave in the epicenter of the Blue Ridge mountains

Beautiful cabin nested in a wood. Tranquillity at its best. About 20 min from the three ski resorts, and all main attractions such as trails, wineries and cute town Blowing Rock. My husband loved the company of goats and sheep. Every morning he’d give them the little snacks provided. The interior is super comfy, with nice decorations such as pillows. Books are available! We had everything that we needed to cook. The downsizes: a) we missed the note in the description of the property advising that there is no washer and dryer, b) there was no bath mat, c) there was no additional blankets, d) the TV in the main room did not work and e) the internet connection would sometimes be unstable the evenings, which would give us a hard time to connect to our favorite streaming platforms. Bottom line, we definitely see us coming back!

Perfect weekend getaway

We stayed here for our annual mountain getaway while our friends rented 2 of the other houses on the property. The property is beautiful and serene, and our little ones enjoyed feeding the goats each day and exploring the nearby park (near the general store). The homes were close enough that our baby monitors could reach outside so we could all hang out after the kids went to bed, but we still all had our separate space. The location is great as you’re near town and just a short drive to Boone. We would definitely stay here again.

Great stay!

We came to Boone for a weekend. The cabin is close to town and amenities, yet is in a quiet mountain area. We really enjoyed our time here. The cabin had all we needed. We would definitely come back!
