A very unique property with a stream running under the front deck and a private gazebo in the sideyard. Truly a home for the outdoor lover with a wooded yard, streams, bridges, and a large deck with a gas firepit. Enter the home and walk into an open-concept living room/kitchen. The ambiance is set by the high tongue and groove ceilings, exposed beams, and large windows. The kitchen area is fully furnished and offers stainless steel appliances. With 5 bedrooms, there is plenty of sleeping space. The master bedroom has a king bed with an ensuite bath and a private deck entrance. There are four guest bedrooms, two with queen beds and two with bunk beds. There are 2 1/2 baths. The owner has stocked the home with plenty of board games to play when you are ready to come inside from your outdoor activities, and has added air conditioning. Bigfoot's Creek is close to all the amenities that the mountain offers. I had planned a lot of activities in the area, but my four city-fied kids spent more time exploring the creek and the wilderness behind the house than anything else. They loved it!This house was a great place to use a sort of a "homebase" for going around the high country. However, if you're looking for a place to stay in the summer where the house itself is main attraction, there are some things you should know about this one. First, there are dehumidifiers that run around the clock and add a lot of sensory overload to the environment. It didn't bother me, but if you have kids with sensory issues, this can really affect them and it makes it impossible to enjoy the sounds of nature from inside the house. They also make the hall light swing and bump around at night. Second, the bathrooms work but are pretty bare bones. Cracks in the tile, loose plumbing in the primary bathroom, and water spills out of the shower stall in the hall bath no matter what you do.Third, the kitchen and great room looks so cozy, but they are laid out kind of oddly in a way that doesn't take advantage of the space, and it just made it hard for seven people to cook and hang out without constantly bumping into each other.And, finally, the thing that I didn't expect is that there's no central air air-conditioning. I get that it's not really that hot up there, but the window units added to the noise inside. ##### Will G. Stayed 6 nights in Jul 2025 ### 10/10 Excellent #### Ari F. 24 May 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Very pleasant, cozy stay Went here with a group of 9 total. We loved the creeks on the property and the seating for outside; we have been taking an annual trip for 3 years now and it is hard to find seating for everybody. Inside we were able to fit everyone on the couches and chairs, with a few people rotating (some of us have joint issues so the seats were uncomfortable for our hips, but that is not an issue with the house). The kitchen is spacious and the island is very roomy. I would recommend bringing your own knives and utensils as many of the knives were not sharpened and some of the utensils did not work well. The windows are easy to use and lock. The bedrooms are nice and everyone was happy to have a bed (also an issue with a large group). There is no dustpan so we had to make do with paper towels, but the house was clean when we arrived and easy to clean when we left. Because we went in the warmer months, the trees had full foliage, which led to the house being dark, and the internal lighting is not great. However, this did not take away from the experience and it definitely seems as though this is more a winter home than a summer home, though it served our purposes excellently. If you have cars I would recommend not pulling into the driveway all the way as storms can cause flooding which may lead to issues with the driveway. Overall very comfortable and pleasant experience. ##### Ari F.
