Superior crafted cottage in Oxfordshire Cotswolds, near Great Tew

  • Five star, gold rated. Sleeps 2-4 adults. Can be combined with Chestnut Cottage to sleep 6 via Internal door to directly connect with Cobnut. Ideal for larger families.Awarded a ROSE award by Visit England 2022.

    Solid Elm floorboards downstairs, solid Oak floorboards upstairs with rugs throughout. Spacious living room with open plan dining area and large refectory dining table in solid Elm with stunning views. Downstairs toilet and washer-dryer. Enclosed verandah.

    Cobnut, with its accommodation over two floors and with two separate en-suite bedrooms, is a favourite with families and friends. This cottage boasts stunning views across the valley and into the courtyard.

    A spacious entrance veranda leads into the living room area with a beautiful solid elm floor, quality sofa and armchairs and open fire place. To the right through a beautiful elm door is a small cloakroom with airing room, washing machine and downstairs toilet. The dining area with wonderful views across the fields and valley, has a large refectory table in solid elm which can seat up to 8 people. Adjacent to the dining area is the oak framed kitchen which has a granite work top and stainless steel fittings with all modern equipment.

    A beautiful solid ash open tread staircase with oak paneling to the side leads to the 2 en-suite bedrooms. The front room overlooking the courtyard has an exquisite shower room with exposed stone wall, Venetian marble tiling and oak paneling with an electronic power shower.The rear bedroom looks out across the pond and valley beyond and the en-suite bathroom accessed through frosted glass paneled doors features Venetian marble tiling and a deep oak panelled bath.

    Both bedrooms have solid oak floors, ample storage and handmade hardwood beds which can be arranged either as 2 single beds or zip linked together to make super king-size doubles. Top quality firm mattresses and beautiful Egyptian cotton linen make for very comfortable nights.

    Superior crafted, natural luxury together with our exacting standards and attention to detail ensure that Cobnut offers guests a truly relaxing and pleasurable experience. As with all our cottages, Cobnut has outperformed its star rating and been awarded gold by Visit England in recognition of exceptional quality.
