Everything was just as expected: well-maintained and with all the amenities described in the listing. The location is peaceful and perfect for relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. Thanks for everything! This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 30 Jun 2025 #### A short, but very sweet stay. Brook Cottage was a lovely 3 night stay whilst we visited the Cotswold Distillery and several other places of interest. It was ideal as a base for this very reason and we really enjoyed our time there. The only downside was noise from the busy road outside but we got used to it after the first night. Also, the staircase could be difficult for some people and also for small children, as it was very steep. Apart from those two niggles, everything else was spot-on and we very much appreciated our stay there. We loved that there was milk, orange juice and eggs in the fridge. That was a lovely touch. The cottage was absolutely perfect and we loved our stay. The beds and sofa were comfortable and it was a perfect base for us to explore the cotswolds. Would highly recommend. The village was very pleasant, with friendly residents, a few of which I chatted to. Great to have the bakery, butchers shop and newsagent altogether about a 2 minute walk away - fantastic pastries. There was no welcome basket as mentioned in other reviews, but not an issue. Our only issue was the road noise, being on the main road through the village; this was not terrible by any means, but noticeable. I will add that we live in a very quiet hamlet in Cornwall with no road noise, so our view might be a bit skewed by that. Overall, a fantastic place to stay and feel relaxed, as the cottage has a very homely feel, with everything you could think of provided to make the stay wonderful - including fans as it was very hot when we stayed. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### David Y. 5 Jun 2024 #### Nice cottage The cottage had everything you needed the welcome was very good. The downstairs toilet seat was broken and some of the mugs and glasses had to be washed before we could use them. We enjoyed our stay. ##### David Y. It has a large kitchen with all the amenities you need, a lovely lounge area and great bedrooms with a comfortable bed. The shower had plenty of pressure and was great temperature. We enjoyed having dinners outside in the beautiful cottage garden. It’s close to many picturesque Cotswolds villages. Lovely garden and enough parkingspace. Village is lovely too, with a butcher and a bakery. Bed is comfortabel, shower too and the woodburner works great. Cottage is authentic and sweet. We enjoyed our stay greatly. ##### Jan H. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good #### Jonathon H. 9 Jan 2024 #### Lovely New Years Break We visited Brook Cottage for a few nights and felt it was a good base for us and met all of our expectations. The photos and descriptions on the website were accurate and everything worked, was clean and pretty well equipped. ##### Jonathon H. Very comfy beds. Lots of storage. Pub, butcher, bakery & shop 3 minutes walk. Parking spaces a bonus. Had a query on arrival and it was easy to make contact for help. ##### Bernadette K. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Tracy W., Welshpool 7 Aug 2023 #### Lovely stay Beautiful cottage, amazing beds. Couple of niggles but nothing that impacted our stay… great welcome pack, perfect for breakfast. Beds were amazingly, secondary glazing meant we had no issues with road noise. The stairs are really narrow - not suitable for those with limited mobility. Stay Cotswolds were great to deal with. Customer service & communication was excellent ##### Tracy W. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 9 Jun 2024 #### Lovely stay We had a lovely 3 night stay at Brook Cottage on our way home from Cornwall. Beautiful little cottage, with a nice little sun trap garden at the side. We even spotted the goldfish in the well/pond at the back door. Good quality bedding (master bedroom bed was quite hard though) and lovely good quality towels. Welcome goodies very much appreciated. Not far to some lovely cotswold villages. Lower Brailles is a small quiet village , we had a drink at the local pub The George Inn , which has a nice beer garden. Would definitely recommend. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 31 Oct 2023 #### Perfect base to explore the Cotswolds We came here on our honeymoon with our 12 year old son to spend a hopefully lovely and relaxing break in the beautiful Cotswolds. We arrived to our cottage to find it in excellent condition, with welcome gifts of milk, orange juice and eggs greatly appreciated. The cottage itself was perfectly clean, extremely well equipped and was just what we had hoped for. The location was perfect, quiet small village with good local amenities and within easy driving distance of major Cotswolds attractions. All in all, a brilliant break, would highly recommend and will certainly look to book with StayCotswold again. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 10 Apr 2025 #### Cottage in Brailes We stayed for a week in this well positioned Cottage in Brailes, with a wonderful pub just up the hill and butchers, bakers and newsagents the other way. The kitchen was well appointed as was the living space, the bedroom was lovely and gas secondary glazing which means you get a really restful sleep. The bathroom shower was good and the additional toilet down stairs is a real bonus. It was clean and very tidy up to eye level but this is a rental and is no doubt left empty dome weeks so the spiders can have a field day. Day two we hoovered them all away but I really feel the cleaner should take care of the above eye height level. It didn't spoil our break and we didn't mention it but I wanted to give a fair review. The cottage is perfect and renovated to a very high standard and my son and I settled in right away as it really felt like home with such a cosy and inviting living room, and dining area. The kitchen was absolutely fabulous and was equipped with everything you could possible want. It was such a lovely touch that bread, milk, juice and eggs were left for us to enjoy. The bedrooms were very comfortable and I had the best sleep of my life while staying there, with such a good mattress and wonderful crisp bed linens and pillows. The stairs up are a bit steep but this is expected in a cottage and adds to the wonderful charm. My son is 6ft 2in and the lower ceiling in some places were not a problem for him. Brook Cottage provided a wonderful respite for my son and I while preparing him for his stay in Oxford. I highly recommend this glorious cottage! Very clean and cosy, nice treat the have bread, eggs, butter, milk and orange juice on arrival. Beds are extremely comfortable, now wanting a new mattress at home !! Little village is great, must visit the butchers and bakers and the George Inn garden is great with a dog. As mentioned in booking, stairs are very very steep, hand rail position is really good. Only things to point for us is only 2 outside chairs (2 were in carport but were broken) so not great for 4 adults to sit outside and enjoy the garden and sunshine. Only 1 wine glass, so we ended up buying some more glasses! Booklet stated coffee pod starter pack and bin bags were left, but unfortunately not. Otherwise a great stay. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent 13 Aug 2024 #### Lovely cottage Really enjoyed our stay at Brook Cottage. Just a bit of mould in bathroom. Close to local pub as indicated when we booked - but disappointingly pub was not open for food on night we arrived. Not your fault but annoying. The niggle: charging double what other companies ask for our dog and not discounting the weekly rate for a stay of only three nights. That's mean in my opinion. And while the log fire was appreciated leaving a box with only two matches was also a bit stingy. This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 8/10 Good 3 Dec 2024 #### Wonderful winter warmer Cotswolds stay Our stay at Brook Cottage was a winter warmer, the cottage itself is delightfully decorated and very wholesome. We loved utilising the log fire, the smart TV and comfy sofa. The arrival gifts of eggs, milk, bread and orange juice was a lovely touch from the owners. The management team were always on call to answer any queries or questions about the facilities, which was very handy! We had some issues with the bath dripping through the ceiling, and a plumber was organised to visit the following day to sort it out. The location of the cottage is fantastic, you are within a 25min drive from most of the idyllic Cotswold villages and points of interest. The bakery and butchers in Lower Brailes is a must visit! The pastries are to die for, and the sausages at the butchers are heavenly. We even popped in before our departure to gather some goodies to take home! The only minor difficulties we had were with the oven, a few of the knobs are loose, so it’s difficult to tell which part of the oven is on and at what temperature, this meant we had to cook most things on the hob. The only recommendations I would advise would be the possibility of an outdoor tap or a bowl to wash muddy paws after country walks, and blind in the bathroom for some privacy as we found that unless steamed up you could see straight through the windows. We had a wonderful week stay, and would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and family! As a keen cook, I was delighted with how well the kitchen was equipped (esp. decent knifes #and# a sharpener!). The beds were extremely comfortable and the garden + outdoor furniture were used a lot. As per the information on the StayCotswold website, the stairs are certainly steep, but perfectly usable, with the various handles. The George pub at Lower Brailles is an absolute gem (restricted opening on Sunday and closed all day Monday). I would cross continents for the pork pies from Paddock Farm butchers, just a few hundred yards up the road ### 10/10 Excellent #### Kevin R. 23 Mar 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Excellent little cottage great for dog walkers. Lovely cottage, well placed. One comment is that the stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom are very steep and narrow. ##### Kevin R. The house is very clean and cared for and we had everything we could require . The beds are super comfy and although stairs steep the thought of double sided hand rails would support anyone whom would find it tricky . The house has been beautifully renovated with care and love and this can be felt . We will return . ##### Donna R. The location is perfect, 20 minutes away from most things, but the bakery in the village is amazing! The Owners left us eggs, orange juice, bread and milk, which was a lovely touch, thank you! We'd love to stay at the property again and felt we were away from home when we left. We loved our break, and that's a complete credit to the property and the owners. We would definitely, 100%, stay again! No sign for Brook cottage upon arriving - would be helpful if it was on the wall next to the Hurdles Had problem with TV - couldn’t get a lot of the normal channels Would have liked a radio (radio on the problem TV so didnt even try that) plus a bread bin. Saying all that it was a lovely cottage - one of the best we have stayed in - quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely welcome pack upon arrival. ##### ian s. ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Spa Chester](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-DoubleTree-By-Hilton-Hotel-And-Spa-Chester.h527788.Hotel-Information) > > [The Park Royal Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Warrington-Hotels-The-Park-Royal.h24462.Hotel-Information) > > [The Pear Tree Inn](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Banbury-Hotels-The-Pear-Tree-Inn.h9107057.Hotel-Information) > > [The Windermere Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-The-Windermere-Hotel.h13431161.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Towcester-Hotels-Hilton-Garden-Inn-Silverstone.h48251404.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton Bristol Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-Bristol-Airport.h16543862.Hotel-Information) > > [Ufford Park Woodbridge Hotel, Golf & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Woodbridge-Hotels-Ufford-Park-Woodbridge-Hotel.h12685.Hotel-Information) > > [Cartwright Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Banbury-Hotels-Cartwright-Hotel.h23112483.Hotel-Information) > > [Oulton Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Leeds-Hotels-Oulton-Hall-Hotel.h15948.Hotel-Information) > > [Royal Whitby](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Whitby-Hotels-The-Royal-Hotel.h57917040.Hotel-Information) > > [Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bolton-Hotels-Last-Drop-Village-Hotel-And-Spa.h9341.Hotel-Information) > > [DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham-Cotswolds](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cheltenham-Hotels-Doubletree-By-Hilton-Cheltenham.h65899.Hotel-Information) > > [Harbour Hotel Christchurch](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Christchurch-Hotels-The-Christchurch-Harbour-Hotel-And-Spa.h18097.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Cotswold Water Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cirencester-Hotels-De-Vere-Cotswold-Water-Park.h1770053.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Tortworth Court](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bristol-Hotels-De-Vere-Tortworth-Court.h570412.Hotel-Information) > > [Dunston Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Norwich-Hotels-Dunston-Hall.h519081.Hotel-Information) > > [Redworth Hall Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newton-Aycliffe-Hotels-Redworth-Hall-Hotel.h517266.Hotel-Information) > > [Lakes Hotel and Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Windermere-Hotels-Lakes-Hotel-And-Spa.h901040.Hotel-Information) > > [Red Lion Hotel Adderbury by Greene King Inns](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Banbury-Hotels-Red-Lion-Hotel-Adderbury-By-Greene-King-Inns.h3075286.Hotel-Information) > > [Cave Hotel & Golf Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Faversham-Hotels-Cave-Hotel-Golf-Resort.h33410673.Hotel-Information) > > [ibis budget Manchester Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Ibis-Budget-Manchester-Airport.h75715089.Hotel-Information) > > [Stunning 5 bed edge of village Cotswold Barn, walk to pubs, idyllic village](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Banbury-Hotels-Stunning-5-Bed-Barn-On-The-Edge-Of-Idyllic-Village.h33606341.Hotel-Information) > > [De Vere Wokefield Estate](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Reading-Hotels-De-Vere-Wokefield-Estate.h1044123.Hotel-Information) > > [Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-Grosvenor-Pulford-Hotel-Spa.h790572.Hotel-Information) > > [Pine Lake Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Carnforth-Hotels-Pine-Lake-Resort.h1928661.Hotel-Information) > > [Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Hook-Hotels-Four-Seasons-Hotel-Hampshire.h986107.Hotel-Information) > > [Deddington Arms](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Banbury-Hotels-Deddington-Arms.h23112028.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, A Verified Net Zero Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Park-Inn-By-Radisson-Manchester-City-Centre.h2601411.Hotel-Information) > > [Banbury Wroxton House Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Banbury-Hotels-Banbury-Wroxton-House-Hotel.h14743.Hotel-Information) > > [Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Cambridge-Hotels-Cambridge-Belfry.h1103020.Hotel-Information)
