"This hotel is in a fabulous location in Porto within easy walking distance of Bolhao Market, the main shopping area, the tour departure point. There are restaurants and bars all around. The room was immaculately cleaned and very modern. Serviced daily. Tea and coffee making facilities were well used! Loved the free water in the fridge daily. The staff were great. Very accommodating when we arrived super early, allowing us to change and leave our bags safely. Food and coffee shop was also great. We didn’t try the restaurant (but wish me had). The upstairs bar and pool/sunbathing area was fab again with attentive staff. The only criticism I had was that they needed more/ larger lifts. One was frequently malfunctioning and the other often so full you couldn’t get in. A minor issue. Everything else was fab!"

"So our room was on the first floor with "a river view" . True but also a walkway right outside the window where pedestrian traffic could walk. So keeping the curtain closed was required. The room was a great size but a little odd in that the shower was glass all around in direct view of the bed and if curtain was open the windows. You could pull a curtain across to conceal so then there's that. The toilet was separated but again all glass so parts obscured but the door was heavy glass and left about 18 in for legroom if seated. Towel hooks in the toilet area. All the light switches were by the entry door. Despite those quirks the beds are comfortable, breakfast is very nice and the staff terrific. Close to all the riverfront activities and restaurants."

The views from the property are simply stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special — personalized touches throughout made it feel like far more than just a hotel stay. The chef's dinner was a true highlight, and the wine tasting experience was expertly guided. The only reason this isn't a full five stars is the more rural location means a bit more travel time to reach — but that's also part of what makes the Douro so peaceful and worth visiting. A beautiful, memorable stay we'd happily repeat."
