The room was okay, it had a bad smell (I think it was the carpet) but we got used to it. There was only bath towels, no hand towels. The view was amazing. The restaurant downstairs was amazing. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel, and more in the surrounding area, so that smell did not take the score down too low :)

Highfield House is a substantial disappointment. The room was small and not clean. The details listed on Expedia regarding there being an “in-room full-sized refrigerator/freezer” and “in-room microwave” is completely untrue. This is not a hotel quality establishment – it is a student hostel at best. Expedia notes that: “This property received multiple high ratings from couples”. I don’t see how this can be the case. The double bed – which is up against the wall on one side – is smaller than the average double bed in the United States. The property is also noisy, including throughout the night. Very (very!) disappointing.
