Nice building in a great location though why the road to the shrine isn’t open directly from the hotel it is difficult to fathom. The restaurant is a well-decorated and pleasant room (apart from the worn, grubby kitchen door). It has a good ambience helped by playing appropriate music at an optimum volume. This is rare and a big plus. Food was good. However the service was slow and chaotic. The bathroom was not practical with a loo that was difficult to flush and there was nowhere to hang anything apart from two hooks in the shower cubicle. We had tea in the lobby and had to ask for the table to be cleaned. The waiter wiped the table with a wet cloth and replaced my book on the wet surface. Not impressed. The floor beside the table was covered in flaky pastry crumbs and not vacuumed until the next morning. A good environment but sadly poorly managed.

The staff was very friendly. They went above and beyond for our stay. My kids had special gifts left just for them on their beds along with magical notes from fairies. You'll have to make a reservation for a restaurant to be able to go into the castle. Be sure to do this as the experience is well worth it!! Also, highly recommend the School of Falconry Hawk Walk. It was my 8yo's favorite thing we did in Ireland.

Really pretty hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable (signature room 311 on 3rd floor. It had a nice seating area in a turret. Breakfast was quite good with lots of options. We only ate dinner in the bar not the fancy restaurant and the food was okay though a bit salty. we felt service was a bit haughty which was unexpected as everyone on our trip has been so welcoming. Maybe they just don't like Americans here as the front desk staff was dismissive on separate occasions. Even so, I would stay again.
