Expansive Ocean Compound

Our home - Casco Amarillo - is 18000 sq ft under roof on 5 acres. The house consists of six buildings interconnected by walkways and covered terraces. There are 10 bedrooms - 1 king, 9 queens, 2 king futons, 2 twin sleep sofas and 6 banco sleep sofas. The house is built on a ridge 100 ft above Playa Dominical and the Pacific Ocean. The walk from the house to the beach is short and takes about 5-7 minutes. The house comes with a full time staff of three that live in casitas on the property. They are responsible for daily cleaning, laundry, maintenance and the swimming pool. There is no charge for their services. We also have available the services of a professional chef and her assistants at additional charge. The property is surrounded by heavy jungle and there is a wide variety of animal and bird life on the grounds including sloths, white face monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws and iguannas

Amazing Stay in Dominical
Truly beautiful home Beatles into the jungle and with a breathtaking view. BOOK THIS HOUSE TODAY! Everything about it was amazing. The staff, the pool, the rooms! We hired Marcella the private chef and was blown away by the amazing dishes she and her team put together. Kids had a blast in the pool all day! Don’t hesitate book now and enjoy this magical place! We will be coming back again.

Great place missing some finishing touches
Overall great place to stay for 21 of us, ranging from 4 year olds up to grandparents. Each group had room to be private and a bathroom. Dishwasher did not work correctly so we washed by hand with help from the staff. I was a bit worried about the staff being on site, but they went about their business without feeling intrusive. Only real issue we had was one of the gas stoves does not have a safety to turn it on. We think someone hit it with a hip and turned it on at bed. In the morning, a very strong smell of propane was in the house (even though windows were left open). After this we removed the knobs when not in use. The pool and view are incredible, though the week we were there it was 38C and there really isn't shade during the day. Overall very happy. Nice location, easy to get to groceries and Dominical has some nice food/beach options! Would recommend.

Family Celebration
Our family came here to celebrate our parents 60th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful experience with lots of amazing memories. Ranged in age from 2 to 82 and everyone had a great time. The owner was very helpful in answering all of our questions prior to arrival and the house was perfect with a beautiful view. The staff was wonderul; they were more than accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Marcela and her staff came in and prepared the most delicious anniversary dinner that appealed to everyone. All agree we would come back here to stay again for a future vacation. Thank you to everyone at Casco Amarillo for making this such a great celebration!

Perfect for a Large Group
The property was in good shape and the staff was extremely accommodating. We hired Marcela, at the owner's recommendation, to cook breakfast and dinner for us. Not only was the price reasonable, but the food was gourmet! Even the pickiest of our picky toddlers loved it. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have privacy, but we were all drawn back to the pool and the stunning ocean view. There was enough greenery to enjoy privacy from the neighbors and experience wildlife. The property is steep and located on the side of a hill, but we had no problem getting to it with a 2 wheel-drive car. We loved the area and would come back to Dominical and this fabulous house.

PERFECT VILLA FOR FABULOUS VACATION
Our stay at Casa Amarilla was absolutely perfect. Everything from the incredible villa with all its amenities, the attentive staff, the spectacular views, the location and easy access to the village of Dominical made our annual family reunion perfect. There were 22 of us in our group, the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The living areas were expansive and always provided the needed privacy for separate family groups traveling together. Every room has picture perfect ocean views. We loved lounging by the infinity pool. It was the perfect place for relaxing and watching the waves break on Playa Dominical. We had the pleasure of Marcela and Heavens Kitchen prepare and serve all of our meals. They are such a delightful family - we all loved the exquisite tropical flavors and fare. The photos and description of the villa do not do it justice. But the expansive beauty of Casa Amarilla has to be experienced. We always had someone available to assist us if we needed anything. This vacation was about relaxing and adventure and Casa Amarilla was the center of that experience. It is truly the gem of Dominical. I highly recommend this home for anyone considering a trip to Costa Rica.

Not worth the money
House was in a beautiful spot. Quiet neighbors but nearby highway with semi trucks using their Jake Brake makes for lots of unwelcome road noise. There is no way the pictures in the listing were taken in the last few years. Multiple maintenance issues with the property. Desperately needs pressure washing and painting. Pool tile is missing in manny areas. Furniture is old, doesn’t match and needs replacing. Inside the beds are old and linens need replacing, inside light falling down while outside lights not working. We’ve previously stayed in many beautiful properties in the area that did not disappoint. We needed the bedrooms that this property had but would not have stayed here if we knew how poor of condition the house and surrounding buildings were.

Even better than the photos!
This was a property of an absolute lifetime! The photos don’t do it justice, so many beautiful areas to gather together and large enough to have alone time (even when there were 23 of us staying for 6 nights!) We were 7 families and there was plenty of room and plenty of bathrooms. The pool and view over the ocean is breath-taking and it was fun to watch the iguanas through the trees. The washer/dryer were very useful to those of us who had already been traveling before we arrived. Communication was very good with the owner (Walter) before arriving and once on-site, Edwin the property manager and his wife, Yahira (spelling?) were amazingly helpful. We utilized the chef services the first night and for breakfast the next day and it was delicious. The rest of the time we cooked together. It might be helpful for other renters to know there are no condiments (no salt, pepper, oil etc) kept on the premises as we were a little surprised by that. Not a big deal when this was the best place we had ever stayed but maybe useful to know. Dominical is a lovely little town with some good cafes/restaurants. You definitely need a 4x4 to get up and down the hill.

Gorgeous authentic Costa Rican vibe!
The vibe of this place is truly special! Our guests were glad to have trekked all the way for our weekend immersion. The house is more beautiful than the photos and we can tell it was designed with intention and is well loved and maintained. The feeling of the ocean breeze going through the main house was perfect, we were never really too hot. Sleeping with AC was super important though, so thank you for that. The place is sprawling--plenty of space for 18 adults. We hosted a retreat and stayed on property nearly the entire time, except for one trip to Playa Dominical which was an $8 taxi ride away. We booked everything through the property manager and it was great, made our time much easier. We booked shuttles from SJO and highly recommend choosing to be driven after a long flight! We stopped for yummy food and a few groceries along the way. I am also glad we didn't drive because the roads are insanely steep and in this area people use verbal/relational directions instead of GPS. I was super impressed with the shuttle driver's skills. WOW to Marcela, the chef and team! They were incredible and have great energy, made creative and delicious local food. Highly recommend! Edwin, the house manager is incredibly helpful, so grateful for him! Having the house staff each morning was wonderful-- they came to learn, empty trash, handle dishes, make beds and tidy up each morning and they are delightful humans. Thank you for an incredible stay!

Perfect for a retreat.
This house was a perfect spot for our group of women we brought for an art retreat. There was enough room to spread out, the pool was nice and most of all, the chef Marcela that we had with her family to cook three meals a day for us was exceptional! She was very accommodating to all of us and would take special requests without a problem. The hike up the road from the ocean is steep, but doable. We would rent this again

Crown Jewel of Dominical perfect for Retreats!
This Villa is absolutely spectacular! I rented the place for a week to host my annual Pilates and Wellness retreat with 13 of my clients. EVERYone was in aw of the beauty of this Villa. It was a true treat to teach my morning classes on the beautiful covered patio over looking the ocean and my clients were so happy to be able to jump into the pool after sweating it out in my classes. The Villa is beautifully designed and excellently decorated with tasteful art. The beds were firm but comfortable. The daily visitations from the Iguanas that live in the gardens was a lovely little reminder that you are in jungle. Walter the owner was readily available to answer all my questions leading up to my arrival. The property manager (who lives onsite) was very responsive when reaching out, just be sure to be explicit as to your needs. Our cleaning schedule got lost in translation and we ended up going 4 days without a properly cleaning, but when I made the request to have the villa cleaned it was done the very next morning. I would highly recommend utilizing Heaven's Kitchen (the chef services available for hire). Just make sure you get the proper pricing directly from Marcela (one of the chef's of Heaven's Kitchen) as I was originally misquoted on pricing from the owner. The food was superb and I will definitely be hiring Marcela and her team again next year! I will most certainly be renting this villa again next year and cannot recommend this place enough!
