My husband and I had a really fun weekend visit! The hit was perfect size for us and location was fun. It was great to walk to dinner and breakfast while having beach access within walking distance. It is quiet and quaint!
Great get away! This was the second time we’ve stayed at the Fire shack. Jules was very responsive. Her restaurant is awesome. Great food and drinks. We love Bald Head and this is a perfect place to stay, sunsets over the marina were beautiful.
Beautiful cottage
Perfect location
Property manager very attentive
Had to rearrange some cleaning supplies that were in the armoire (the only place you could hang clothes)
So thankful we had the opportunity to stay in such a unique place. Literally right the water in the marina. Might as well been a boat. The golf cart to explore the island was perfect. The host was very helpful and responsive. If you have the opportunity, I would recommend it.

Cute place, BUT……
Very disappointed as the place has NOT been cleaned. Food on the floor, had not been dusted in months, very few dishes that were there were dirty, fridge and microwave very dirty. We were not able to sit on the couch, as it was dirty, or able to use one of the blankets, it, too was very soiled. Blinds on the door were broken, so you can see in. Caretaker messaged me a few days before to say the front door is broken and doesn’t lock, however after reading a review it’s been that way over a year. Very few dishes - only 1 plate. No soap or toiletries in the shower. Pluses: very convenient location and the bed was comfortable. It has plenty of room for 2 people.
We enjoyed our first weekend at Bald Head Island in this cute cottage! It was clean and perfect for our stay! Very easy to get to once off the ferry! Golf cart was very useful in touring the island!
Property is in a great location on Bald Head Island. It was clean, good amenities, and Jules (Owner) was awesome to deal with!!! She responded very quickly to our questions & was extremely nice. Highly recommend this cottage.
We stayed at the Fire Cottage as part of a Wedding Party on the Island. The location could not be beat for proximity to the Ferry terminal and all of the functions for the wedding. Really enjoyed the location and the uniqueness of the property. Having the golf cart included was superb.
I have been coming to BHI since 1984. This is the first time I have stayed in Fire. It was perfect for what I needed. Even though it’s small, it was plenty of room for myself and actually 2 people would be comfortable. It was quiet and Jules provided ample communication and made the whole check in and check out process very easy. I would highly recommend Fire for a single or even a couple.
The Fire Cottage was a perfect weekend getaway to immerse yourself in all things Bald Head, and just relax overlooking the marina. In my 20+ years of renting through VRBO across the US & beyond, I've never had a host as accommodating and gracious as Jules. We'll be back & often!
We needed one night and a late check out and Julie couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating than she was. Always responded quickly to emails. Bald Head Island is the best and Fire Hut was just what we needed.

We got engaged at the top of the lighthouse!
Although this trip was a wonderful and memorable one, we were disappointed with the fact that the fire hut had a cigarette smoke smell to it. Other than that, it was a perfect spot and had amazing views!

Bald Head Island
Check in the unit had not been cleaned. Owner was very Responsive and had it cleaned right away and refund of the cleaning fee. It could be appointed better with extra pillows beach towels shampoo amenities only one wine glass etc.
We have been to Bald Head many times. Howe er this is the first time we werent allowed in the golf shop where I usually purchase a golf shirt for my.grandson. Bald Head island Club does not welcome non members inside the gates.
It seems its a very closed community. And there are very few restaurants available for non members.
Such a cute little spot! There were some unavoidable glitches (compressor on ac went out and it’s an island so no repair available on the weekend) but the owner was so gracious and handled it so appropriately. It’s a 5 star for me, but would be over the top if could get ac ice cold and pitch black dark! There is some harbor and sunrise light - I loved it but I’m always up early.
Front door lock broken, front door blinds broken roaches in hall and kitchen cabinet, decorated with thrift store rejects and nothing matched (nautical comforter and shams with Peanuts linens, geometric pillows on sofa with striped throw rug, black/white towels in ORANGE bathroom), broken nightlight on far side of bed and shower handle, no toiletries, bar soap or hairdryer, no plates, one stale Kuerig coffee pod and rock hard creamer...for the outrageous price of $800+ for two nights! Broken windshield in dirty golf cart.
The tv was okay and the white bathmat the only new and nice accessory.
Really enjoyed the central location and easy access to the island with the included golf cart. Studio was cool and clean and kept us dry from the rain. We will be back next year! Thanks Jules!
