There is a tiny table with two chairs outside the door and a larger space with garden furniture under a canopy further down the garden, although this would be more comfortable if it could be contrived to put it on level ground. "The photographs of this property do not do it justice, it really is lovely and very clean. The property is set in a stunning courtyard on a working farm which is interesting but not noisy. I have never heard birds sing as beautifully as at this property. We were in the area for a family wedding and I was looking for a property nearby to chill out in when not at the wedding events. "We loved our stay here. The gite is huge - massive large living space, large bedrooms (with very comfy beds) and a big walk in shower with double sink layout. Although the site is shared with another Gite and BandB guests the layout means everyone has total privacy and only the pool is shared. Beautiful gardens out the back - horses to pet in the paddock. So peaceful and calm, we loved it. A little remote - 15-20 mins drive to nearest shops."

Best Stay Ever !!

"Wow what can I say - we had a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Chateau and hope to return one day Highlights - the house furnishings and grounds , the equipment and a very special mention to Nicolas , the manager who was so helpful and even took it upon himself to cook us the local delicacy- he is a credit to the place !Montmorillon is a delight Criticisms - not anything I can immediately think of to be honest . The local villages are very quiet in late May/early June and the bars /cafes open periodically. Maybe a schedule of what is open when in Journet and La Trimouille would be helpful but that is nit -picking Thank you Stephen !!! "

"Accueil sympathique mais ensemble général très moyen pour le prix. Petit déjeuner de supermarché, aucun produits frais ou typiques de la région, 3 bouchées de melon minuscules pour 2..., chambre vaste mais manque de finitions et de ménage, salle de bain idem ( rideau de douche salle), piscine déjà occupée par les enfants des propriétaires, perdu hors de tout...très déçu, photos qui vend du rêve..."

Great little hotel

"Its a lovely family run hotel, the owner has excellant customer service skills and all of the staff make the effort to make you feel like a valued customer. Yes aspects of the rooms could do with a refresh butit is easy to overlook that. The food was very good and good value for money. It was my wife's birthday whilst we were there and when the owner realised they arranged for her dessert to be brought out with an candle in it and Happy Birthday written in chocolate!"

Convenient and friendly

"The hotel was in an ideal location for us so very convenient. Its a common place for truckers to stop overnight. If the restaurant is closed there is a supermarket 8 mins drive or a pizza vending machine 3 minutes drive. Friendly staff. No vegetarian options tho and the walls very thin in the cabins (not ideal if youre travelling with a child and theres a couple next door🙈). The shutters are fab, leave the room pitch black at any hour."
