Originally built in 1903, this charming abode has retained all of its historical charm while undergoing numerous renovations and design improvements over the years. With its high ceilings, pine wood floors, and rustic décor, The Grey Rabbit House exudes warmth and offers the perfect setting for a family getaway.

Located in the heart of Ayer’s Cliff Village, just steps away from the main street, The Grey Rabbit House is within walking distance of local amenities, including a grocery store, farmer’s market (in the summer), butcher shop, SAQ, and charming cafes and restaurants. While you may occasionally hear passing trucks during the day, evenings are typically peaceful, allowing for a serene atmosphere.

Comfortable and easy

We had an amazingly lovely time in this beautiful old house. It has just the right amount of modern conveniences to make it comfy while the ambience is all there. There's a Japanese vibe in the bathroom with a soaking tub set on polished stones.

Lovely place, friendly town. Cross country skiing minutes away. Our hosts were very accommodating, and thoughtful.Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to a coming snow storm.Would definitely return to the area again.Cheers

Lovely period 2 story cottage - renovated just right with tons of character left! Everything was spick and span clean, easy to find and comfortable. Truly appreciate this gem of a cottage!

Charming and comfortable older home

We loved our stay at this place. It was spacious and clean. New appliances, large kitchen, comfortable beds, antiques, excellent Heating and Cooling. The location is busy but close to town and the highway. We were able to walk to the store, restaurants, shops. Everything was as described. I would definitely return in the future.

Great cottage

The cottage is just as advertised, really clean and perfect for a getaway in Ayers cliff. It is well located, right in the heart of the village. We really had a good time! Thanks!

The cozy grey rabbit house was fantastic, super charming, well equiped and very comfortable. The hosts were great, easy to communicate with. I would book this house again if I want to spend some time in the area with a group.

Yearly Massawippi fishing trip

We again enjoyed our stay at the Grey Rabbit house. this time for 2 nights. The house had everything we needed for 5 people Fishing was great with the house being so close to Lake Massawippi We also being able to walk to Auberge Ayer's cliff where we enjoyed to great dinners. Thanks agiain Guillaume and Julietee

Cozy Stay at Cozy Grey Rabbit

The Cozy Grey Rabbit is an historic home with a lot of character. We loved all the windows that face every direction and allow light to come in at different times of the day. It is very clean and well equipped. The owners have provided clear instructions, handy tips around the house and helpful recommendations. The shower is great. It is a super location from which to explore the Eastern Townships - nothing is too far away. The road in front of the home is busy, but the owners inform clients of that in advance. The wifi is strong and reliable. Guillaume and Juliette are excellent communicators who are ready to meet any need and anxious for guests to enjoy their stay - which we did indeed.

Not as advertised

Let me start by saying we have stayed at many VRBO's and have never given a negative review. Pros: "Quaint" home with large bedrooms and nice entertaining space. Grocery store within walking distance. Cons: Safety concern as I fell through a grate in the floor that was covered with a rug. I am so glad it did not happen to my 93 year old mother. The large pulp trucks travel in front of the house beginning at 6 a.m. daily. Very loud. The BBQ and outdoor shower are actually attached to the other unit. Which is not convenient if someone is staying in that unit as the space is on their deck looking into their unit.

Welcoming, comfortable home

Our family of 5 (parents + 3 teens/young adults) enjoyed our stay. The hosts had many thoughtful touches that helped to make our stay comfortable and cozy. The house was immaculately clean. There are laundry facilities and a dishwasher, which are great for a family, especially. One house rule that wasn't mentioned on the listing was that there are no shoes allowed in the house. With the age of the home, many of the floors are uneven/slanted, and all are hardwood or painted wood, which means they can be slippery -- so guests may want to bring a pair of indoor slippers as a matter of comfort and safety. The house is situated very close to the main road and its considerable traffic. Fortunately, the home is air-conditioned, which meant we were quite comfortable inside with the windows closed. Traffic did quiet down at night. The location is very close to the bike trail and within walking distance of a grocery store, as well. The hosts were very considerate, going out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. We had a great week.

Super belle découverte que cette maison centenaire avec ses antiquités de toute beauté! Les lits sont confortables, la cuisine bien équipée, c'est propre et bien entretenu et que dire de ce balcon couvert et fermé de moustiquaire! Tout est à distance de marche. Lovely getaway

This was a charming home, lovely decorations, very clean, and minimalist. The communication with the hosts was excellent! As mentioned in the description of the rental, the street can be a little noisy and busy, so if you're looking for nature and escaping the city, this may not be for you. Although, Ayer's Cliff is a little town with few shops, so it makes it feel like you're a bit more isolated than you would be in the city, and we enjoyed that. Note: the indoor fireplace can make the house very smokey, even when the flu is open, so pack some eye drops. Definitely a beautiful place to stay and lovely towns to explore 20 minutes away by car. We were very satisfied with our long weekend escapade. Thank you.

Très belle maison avec cachet exceptionnel. Cuisine super bien équipée, tout est disponible pour rendre le séjour agréable. Le seul inconvénient est la proximité avec la route, ce qui peut entrainer du bruit tôt le matin. Les hotes sont très gentils et bien accueillants.

Une maison agréable, confortable et charmante. On s’y sent chez soi . Seul bémol, les camions sur la rue Principale, heureusement ils cessent la nuit . L’hôte est très avenant et attentif en étant discret . Un beau séjour!
