Feels like a 3 star hotel that has seen its best years already. Rooms are dusty, breakfast tables not wiped, every step you will see sth broken. But that is a picture we whitness nowadays in most previously highly rated hotels. Due to Covid and lock down there was no money to maintain the hotels. So its natural to be skeptical about what awaits you. But being in a secluded area probably gives the luxury of space. I must say I was pleasantly surprised to get such a property at a fairly reasonable price. There are 2 buildings. Try to select the older one since it provides a view of the Sigriya Rock, the biggest attraction around Dambulla. I stayed in the new wing. The family room was quite spacious and overlooked lush forest. The washroom was also large sized. We ordered a la carte for dinner and dishes were well prepared. Breakfast was sumptuous as well. Since there were a lot of cancellations due to Covid, the staff was always around to help the few guests. They kept chatting us up to make us feel welcome. The hotel is a bit removed from the rest and was hard to get to as the tuk tuk drivers did not appear to know where it was. The hotel calls a tuk tuk for you when you want to go and see the various sites around. The driver we had was exceptional and very helpful. We used him for 3 days while we were there. Weather ordered room service and had some issues which were resolved very well by Jeffery the manager. He went out if his way to make amends and truly went beyond resolving the issue. Big thanks to Jeffery the manager and Dumenda our tuk tuk driver. It is people like this that make Sri Lanka a lovely place to visit. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Die Sauberkeit war hervorragend! Essen war super lecker. Nicht zu vergessen die herausragende Freundlichkeit des Personals! Wir haben uns total wohlgefühlt... Von der Unterkunft haben wir verschiedene Ausflüge gemacht . Dambulla, sigiriya Rock, polonnaruwa, minneriya Nationalpark . Einziger negativer Punkt war, dass die Klimaanlage hätte etwas stärker sein können. Pour nous, avec la chambre la plus haute (rock view) et vue exceptionnelle sur le rocher du Lion, l'offre que nous avons eu (4 nuits avec petit-dej et dîner) est un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Piscine très agréable, avec petite visite des singes ! Personnel très sympathique, à l'écoute, très bon buffet sri-lankais (avec service au bord de la piscine le soir). Seul bémol : la douche et l'eau chaude :-) Mais, avec les chaleurs du mois de Mars, ça passe !
