"Every staff seemed to be really hardworking, especially the breakfast crew. Very often hotels have just one person handling everything but not this one. They kept keen eyes on what needed refills and were really quick about it. This place also had real plates, utensils, mugs and cups-not the usual flimsy paper plates and plastic forks. That means a lot more cleaning for staff, but much better feeling for guests (at least, me and my family). Well exceeded my expectations!"

"Stayed for two nights mid-week. It's really everything you can ask for in a small property so close to the beach, without all the major hotel chain fluff thown in. From the warm check in experience which included going over all amenities such as the pantry, wifi, parking and the welcome basket waiting for you in the room(which items can be exchanged for what you want in the pantry. Water for coke, popcorn for beef jerky. Just swap it, no hassle and nobody to talk to). The room has a full kitchen, a small island table in the middle with a nice Samsung TV and a balcony. The bathroom is famtastic as well with a large soaker tub and his + hers sinks. One thing to note is the toilet doesn't have a lid and it's located directly in front of the shower. As this is an older property that makes sense, just personal preference. In closing: from the curated decor and friendly staff, to the daily homemade croissants, wine tastings and nacho bar(oh and pie time from 8-9!), this is truly the only place you should stay in the Avila Beach, SLO or Pismo area. 11/10"

"Room was roomy. Nice refrigerator. Excellent shower for safety but lighting in restroom to dim. Floors were dirty and 2 pillows had hair and black stains. Twice the housekeeper left the patio door unlocked after cleaning room. Screen door had no lock! But overall we will return and we submit this review as constructive criticism to make your motel better for the next guests."

"The room experience is 10/10. The steak house is mid. I would rather eat elsewhere for the steak price and ensure it’s an evenly cooked steak. The cafe is mid as well. The pink cake is blah. You’re paying for the novelty of the decor and atmosphere. The architecture of the rooms and decor is honestly what drew us here. Amenities are good as well. Take advantage of them. The rooms are worth the experience at least once. "
